  1. I've got a Rado multifunction which is analogue until you press a button on the side when the digital display appears as if by magic on the black dial. They look awesome and understated when worn with a suit and are made from titanium and scratchproof ceramic material. If anyones after something a bit different i'd highly recommend them, I got about £400 off list for a pair in Bahrain airport last year (I bought my wife a smaller Rado, which she loves). I don't wear mine all the time though, as although it's scratchproof it isn't Adzproof.
  2. I 'm a Flight Simulator Engineer. Ex-RAF and BAE working for Saudi RSAF, now working in a Commercial Airline Training centre(727,tristar,747 and S-61 for any planespotters out there), still training muppetts :winky: . How do you spot a pilot in a bar? You won't have to, he'll tell you :D
  3. Sweeeeet! It does work with swear words. :D :D :D Very childish I know
  4. Just downloaded it, it's amazing. If you download the free voice enable plugin you can highlight web-text and right click and it reads it out loud. :D (haven't tried it on rude words yet, but i'm about to go in the gold forums and check it out) Never used it before but thought i'd give it a go. Well impressed, cheers :D :D :D :D
  5. :D I'm a Daddy myself so I know how you feel. :D :D :D No doubt you've been strutting around the house with a big grin. That's great news, congratulations :D
  6. Proud :D Although i'd steer her towards the RAF if you can, but i'm biased. What does she want to do in the army, because they're all soldiers firstly? Ask her to consider a specialisation as there will be more prospects when you leave. I'm a Daddy so i'd be a bit apprehensive if my son wanted to "join up" when he gets older. If he shows an interest i'll try and steer him towards a commission as it's undoubtedly the best way in. I'd still feel proud he wanted to make a difference though. Good luck.
  7. Although 4x4'a aren't my thing my Dad has an ML270 merc and it's horrible , Like a big tonka toy without the build quality. I don't suppose a german car magazine would be biased then! The test they did wasn't typical of standard usage either, where I believe the Lexus would win, and I am biased. :winky:
  8. Indeed, cynics (realists) like us saw these types of crimes coming for years, imagine when the iris recognition software becomes more widely used. I suppose this is what happens when technology overtakes morality. These scumbags just need executing, the same as the guys who nicked your car. They don't think of the effect they can have on people when they do something like this. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: Siman99, I'll look out for your car as I live in Derbyshire, work in Bournemouth and stay in Warminster for half of the week so i'm on the road a lot. If I see anyone in it he won't be getting a trial. :winky: Keep your head up and I hope you get fully compensated.
  9. Let's hope not, that theme park looks like Neverland.
  10. Me too, thanks for sharing such a personal thing with us and I wish you all the very best.
  11. Welcome to the LOC :D , it's good to see more LS's on here. . What a beauty, awesome cars.
  12. Assuming your alternator is charging your battery and nothing's draining it i'd buy a new battery as 2 weeks is unacceptable for a battery to totally discharge. A good battery should keep it's charge for months.
  13. I bought my LS400 because I know how the Japanese do things. It's so obvious Lexus got an S-class Merc ( back when Mercedes were quality cars) a 7 series BMW and an XJ Jaguar and asked themselves "what's good about these cars?" They took everything good from each one and made it better. This was toyota ( who were already making good cars) Really trying their best. I don't care that my LS handbrake is ripped straight from a Merc or it's bigger more "floaty" and smooth than an XJ jag, or has the solidity/ presence of the big 7 series. The Japanese car manufacturers are more meticulous than the Germans ever were. Honda did the same with their bikes in the 70's , when they were known as "Jap-crap". They refined the british bikes and made them reliable. Now they make the best bikes in the world too, not that i'm biased.
  14. Congratulations! both of you :D Make sure you put a blanket on your seat though as some baby seats can mark the seats, especially leather. ( Just being practical) My little boy's nearly 2 now and it's true when people say they're not babies for long. The time time flies by, enjoy it.
  15. I had this on my MK2 and it was because the wrong size wipers were put on, as far as I recall the 2 wipers are supposed to be different sizes. I expect some people just measure one and then buy a pair that size. Changing them is a pain though. What I did was turned on the wipers until they get in the pointing up position then turn the ignition off so they stay there. As for your stereo code entry I had to get mine recoded when I bought it but then had to manually re-enter the code.I got the instructions off the net but not sure where (try searching this and the U.S site maybe). I'll be at home on tuesday so i'll dig the manual entry instructions out if you haven't sorted it by then. As you've got the code you could ring Lexus who should be able to help. Good luck anyway, Adz :winky:
  16. I prefer 1 to 2. I prefer Aido's idea to both though as it has more impact (and looks like a japflag)
  17. Although my new house is in Swadlincote I live in Warminster half of the time (4 days out of 8) as I work in Bournemouth. Maybe i'll see the beast around Matt if you finish all your "block jobs!" :D
  18. Exactly, I find it hard to believe to be honest. If it does make 1000bhp I reckon it'll last about ten minutes before it goes bang. It doesn't state CC's either but it's only a 4 cylinder:duh: It's 4WD, it says so in the spec. The car looks like a very expensive firework to me!
  19. £3499 for A gold 93 LS with bubbly tinted windows seems expensive mate. The film isn't usually too difficult to remove but can leave a sticky residue which you can clean off with IPA. As suggested before, deifinitely get an HPI check on any old car and if I were you i'd look for another one instead of this example (there are plenty of good ones around). You could always try getting some money back by searching under the seats / in cubby holes as there's probably some drugs hidden in this car somewhere :D :winky:
  20. That's amazing! Even quicker than a really quick superbike The bitchy comments are even more entertaining than the video though.
  21. My 94 LS is the same. Why do you want to turn it off though? it's cool. B)
  22. Congratulations :D Doesn't it just! All the best in your new job.
  23. Very kind of ya! You have a PM from Adz :D
  24. Bentleys are not as fast as radio waves though. I went out with my best mate for a jolly last year in his Traffic T5 as I was (and still am) thinking of joining the police. He seems to have developed a 6th sense to detect cars which seem "wrong". Mostly when he called a suspicious looking vehicle in either the car was stolen or the person(s) were wanted. Maybe this is why the golf got pulled? Them Volvo T5s are awesome machines but he also drives a marked up GS430 which is sweeeeet! I've never been pulled in my LS but think that's because the police think they'll get "capped" or hit with one of my golf clubs that us Lexus owners all have :winky:
