  2. I went ps4s and I won’t look back. The traction. Or significant lack off, was not acceptable to me. The difference is night and day. I’m sure the ps4s ZP was also an OEM option at some point too. Carrying a repair kit / slime is not an issue for me.
  3. Just noticed that you’ve mentioned the tyre sizes, but not the brand. Well here’s another thought…are they asymmetric? Are they directional? It could be that you have the two front tyres on the wrong wheels. If they’re asymmetric then the tread is in blocks, with the larger blocks on the outside. Often the word ‘Outside’ is on the tyre wall. If they’re directional, they’ll have a V tread pattern and an arrow on the outer wall indicating the direction of forward motion. Getting this wrong might well produce the effect you describe. This article explains it in more detail. https://www.kwik-fit.com/blog/tyre-tread-whats-the-difference-between-asymmetric-and-directional-tyres#:~:text=Asymmetric tyres can be placed, block facing the correct way.
  4. I recently purchased a 2010 IS 250 Convertible and also love the car except for the rattle in what sounded like the roof or trunk space when the hardtop was closed. Took the cover off from behind the back seat and tried other things as well but with no avail. Of course as a Christian I prayed, but faith without works is dead, right! After many searches on Google I found your short valuable video Philip. I only needed to do a few winds of the duct take on the first set of latches that you showed and that did the trick, NO MORE RATTLE!!! I found out that if I had too much thickness of duct tape the roof would not close all of the way possibly due to a sensor. Whatever the case I am sooooo happy and thankful to God and you Pastor Philip that the Terrible Rattle is now history! Thank you so much for sharing you info! Ivan

  6. Covered a 50 mile round trip today of which 49.5 miles were achieved entirely in EV mode (journey started with an indicated 44) which is my best performance yet. One third of the journey involved motorway travel so pleased overall with this result.
  7. I’ve been extremely impressed with them. I was expecting to notice a slight reduction in grip at the limit but haven’t found it yet. I do push the car hard at times too, certainly don’t baby it at all! I’m very much bought into the rationale of the car as a GT car so wanted a little more comfort. I do think that I wouldn’t want to go mid tier for tires mind you, car still has nearly 500bhp and rear wheel drive…the piece of mind is worth the price in my eyes.
  8. I had the ecu stored/historic codes read via toyota techstream, nothing major (need to recharge aircon + other minor legacy codes). We did some live readings and saw that of the 2 stop switches, 1 of them was always on, this disables the cruise control as it requires 2 working stop switches (1 of them being a failsafe). A bit of reading later and I discovered that both stop switches are in the switch above the brake pedal, I've ordered a new one, hopefully that will fix it.
  9. If you already have problems with starting up the hybrid, that's way overdue replacement, whatever the age. That's minimal power compared to cranking the engine. Be mindful that these are not full-sized 12V car batteries, but smaller ones because, again, all it needs to do is power up the hybrid system, and it's the NiMH traction battery that cranks the engine. Toyota/Lexus chose these to save space and weight. However, this means that the 12V holds less charge (45Ah vs. typical 60-70Ah) and may wear out faster (VRLA does not like deep discharge, for example, when sitting long), especially if your mileage is irregular/low. Also, your 10 years in the Skoda, isn't that rather exceptional? VRLA technology tends to last 10 years only in ideal conditions, which means always fully charged, never too warm. A car rarely provides ideal conditions. If your warranty is disputed ('computer says no'' situation), your best chance is always a letter to the dealer head office, appealing to an expectation of higher standards. Good luck!
  10. I had this issue. Sadly not. You don’t have to remove the bumper entirely but all needs to be detached to get to the back and unclip it. How do you know the sensor failed? OBD Code?
  11. I've sat in both the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ - the Toyota interior quality is significant poorer, a lot of hard harsh plastic, and I'm really not a fan of the dash design. The Lexus is what you'd expect (minus any real leather - which is really annoying). The Subaru looks to be very similar to the Toyota interior - so I'd personally avoid.
  12. Ah that doesn't give me much hope with the wiring! I am getting a 2017 IS which also comes with a knob. I can see what you mean from those pictures. I'm probably going to test without the unit for a bit and see how I get along with just the phone. Thanks for your help, will let you know if I go ahead with fitting the display!
  13. Changing the pads/discs on a Toyota/Lexus hybrid is only slightly more complex than for conventional setup. I found it best to disconnect the 12v battery before starting. I suggest you review some of the youtube guides before you start in order to avoid problems specific to hybrid brakes.
  14. Yes but I can’t buy a Toyota lol neighbours will think I’m skint 😆
  15. Theres a setting on the module that allows you to manually set up your sound preferences using equalisers. If you play with these, you can taylor how you want it e.g, More bass, treble etc. Theres also a master volume slider which allows you to make the system louder or lower.
  16. All about the actual road and conditions. I was doing 110 and my wife didn't even notice on a quiet motorway. Probs could have crept up to 140 before she started shouting.
  17. Awesome when limiter is removed. I've only done 10% over on certain road not in this country though 😂 I've also got a GT4 ST205 with just shy of 550brake and that was still accelerating at 177 gps
  18. Hi my UX 300 Takumi, Electric goes back soon, and I might upgrade to a RZ Electric, but I notice on Lease the Subaru Solterra is the same car ? And allot less per month . Has anyone driven the Subaru , is it the same suspension as the Lexus ? is it built on the same production line as the Lexus ? any info greatly appreciated. thank you…
  19. Picked the car up today, air suspension back to normal, air conditioning blasting icy cold air and the mini fridge has been re-stocked with cans! Now the scary part - so the claim was accepted subject to photos of the sensor (only learned that part tonight) and air compressor being provided - if they deem there is no evidence of impact damage then all good, otherwise, I'll be looking at a bill of close to grand! I expect to get confirmation tomorrow but the parts that came off the car looked fine to me so fingers crossed.
  20. Plot thickens. Lexus Parts Direct Swindon advise they are sure their warranty is only 12 months on a 12v auxiliary battery, whereas both Sidcup Lexus Service and Parts teams advised me independently that they offer 3 years if purchased part only or fitted. If there is a marginal difference in pricing based on a Lexus Parts Direct discount or using your forum Gold membership, after confirming directly with your local dealership in regards to 3 years warranty, any saving on price (or in my case trying to save a long return walk to the Sidcup dealership as Lexus Parts Direct delivered, carrying a 12v battery as my original factory one would no longer boot the car) should be carefully considered versus my situation where it fails in the 2nd or 3rd year and you are not covered. I will now have to attempt to make a warranty claim on the battery at Sidcup, based on an invoice from Lexus Swindon where as highlighted my vehicle details and mileage were not requested or added to the invoice. This is another consideration when not buying the battery from your local dealership. This is because from what I was advised today, a warranty is also only upheld on a 12v if there is evidence of your vehicle covering at least 6k miles a year (unfortunately I cannot find this detailed on the Terms of Business on the reverse of the invoice as shown). If this detail is not included, how can the 6k per year be proved on the paperwork and terms Lexus appear to rigidly enforce but not clearly communicate at the point of sale? My vehicle is booked in next Friday for a battery assessment but given all the messy paperwork trail above and the conflicting warranty terms across different Lexus Dealerships, I will be popping in person to Sidcup this Friday ahead to avoid any disputes on the day of the test. I am hoping this is not a 3rd overly complex and difficult experience with Lexus, as TBH I am now very much leaning away from this brand despite my historic employment with Toyota. This is less to do with the vehicles or employees themselves who are excellent, more the over bureaucratic terms and conditions when it comes to issues, that to be frank are not contributing to my customer experience, despite going through legitimate Lexus dealerships for all parts and servicing. I'll update on how this ends and if ultimately a nicely written letter to head office is required, about consolidating warranty terms across dealerships and ensuring all relevant details are obtained from the customer when selling items where a warranty and its very specific terms apply.
  21. Hi. Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you haven't done so already. Regards, Dan.
  22. Nope, wife's Cooper. Wouldn't trust Lexigirl to a car park I don't know.
  23. Honestly was not looking as was a bit focused on the road 😂but yeah I expect it to be about 175mph GPS/Actual
  24. And we simply KNOW well used and appropriate ICE diesel and petrol vehicles have a whole fresh extended life exported to Africa wherever ……..where EVs would be laughed out of existence ……. say crossing the Sahara …… or the Gobi whatever Malc Mods I think these latter posts need transferring to some other Section maybe ? Apologies for starting something irreverent here 😇
