Mondeo Advert

Recommended Posts

Ok, I know this is me being really anal but has anyone else noticed on that new Mondeo advert with all the cars with the balloons floating, it shows you a quick shot inside a car. The interior looks suspiciously like an IS to me. Am I mistaken? If not, how very dare they! Saying a Mundano is better than a Lexus?

mmmmm can't help thinking the advert is :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: well rubbish abit like the car

Sorry i have to say that Ford are now producing good cars for value, the price of the is250 £23,972 basic

ford mondeo £15000 basic that nearly £9000 maybe i could have the fiesta as well for the differance.

Not that i dont love my Lexus's just putting thing in context.......

Cheeky gits! I'd never buy a Ford, not after the last heap of junk my stepfather had (his first and only foray outside the Toyota world).

If I won one in a competition it would be on Autotrader like a shot. Same goes for their damned vans. Here's a new slogan for them:-

FordTransit

"because you can't afford a Mercedes Sprinter"

That's not actually quite true, don't mean to offend, but that is not a fair comparison at all. I do like the new Mondeo, and it seems a decent car, but these are the facts:

2.5 Mondeo Titanium X (with spec to match IS250 Sport with MM) costs £27k

IS250 Sport with MM costs £30k

It's up to you whether £3k, is too much of a difference, but I'm enough of a badge snob to go for the Lexus :P

And that's without even talking about looks, build quality, customer service and the "smile" factor.........

Well said Parthiban,

BTW an IS does appear in the mondeo add right of the screen (20 sec in with Trafalgar Square in the background)

just before the inside IS Dash shot.

Looks like it has a body kit on to disguise it ... I don't think ford have the gaul to put a new shape

IS in there.(unless its an un-recalled IS220d)

Funny how that add has lots of previous Ford designs in it... is the add saying they were ALL mistakes ?

Yellow Fiesta by traffic bollard,Grey Escort Multi Storey Car Park , Blue Sierra in the garage etc

think the one stuck under the bridge/overpass/walkway could be a Focus but not sure..

You watched that far too closely

Far far too closely

The only stickler here is that Whilst the top dog Mondeo comes in 10% cheaper, it'll be worth as much as the IS200's engine in 3 years :shutit:

Having said that, it's a good car but I hope they have sorted out the seating position, which for me is too "sit up and beg" in the old Mondeo's and the Focus, maybe a cast off from the Model T??

The rear looks too Laguna for me from initial views, and actually, from certain angles even the front lights look a tad New IS... :crying:
