Ball all snow.

Had some fierce hail stone followed by shoddy sleet.

Gutted to be honest as I wanted a proper blanket to go sledging today :(

Just got back home from Oslo..sat in the aeroplane on Gardermoen main runway last night for around four hours waiting for it to stop snowing so the runway could be cleared for take-off..even taxied back to refuel as the engines had run for so long on the ground. By the time it had eased off there was 10 cms on the runway which would have had to be cleared by which time Heathrow would be closed, so called it a day. Got back on the same plane, same crew today....another Saturday gone.

Folkestone has had a few spatters of snow but I think the sea air nobbles it a bit coz its just raining now .

and from a correspondent the east of england the news is the weather is much the same- lite snow from around 5am onwards stopped a couple of hours ago and has just about all gone now, just sleety rain :(

i drove from norfolk back to coventry yesterday through rain,sleet and then snow.when i got back to coventry it was like it never happened it was sunny and dry only thing was the front of my car was covered in snow

Had some quite bad snow coming back to London from Plymouth yesterday morning. We got to Wiltshire and there was about 2 inches on the fields at the side of the road - the car, even on brand new tyres, was really struggling. Just pottering along on the A303, dead straight line, the traction control and VSC were going nuts, but keeping the thing going straight. They did a good job though - I felt it start to slew ever so slightly but then there was all this beeping and it instantly pulled back into a straight line.

I guess that even at 1200rpm and a nearly-closed throttle there is so much torque off that V8 that the tyres couldn't put it on the road!

Unusually, there isn't a cloud in the sky, and the sun is shining up here..

even more unusually we have about 4" of snow and its still coming down thick and fast !

We had a light covering of snow overnight in Gloucestershire, but sun came out and it's all gone now apart from what's left on the North side of the hills.
