Pot Holes Who Do I Contact.

Driving down a road today and drove through what I thought was just another puddle only to find a :tsktsk: pot hole underneath it,and yes as you have guessed scraped the rim of my wheel and damaged it,so my question to all you is : Can I claim for the repair of it and if so who do I contact, local council or the Highways dept or do I just have to swallow it and pay £90 for the refurb myself :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk:,what are we paying :tsktsk: road tax for!!!!!!!!!!!!! rant over

As above, take many photos, use a tape measure to show how wide/deep etc as Wozza said. Also take photos from a distance showing no visible warnings and how hidden it was.

Obviously it still may make no difference (as for mine) but it's worth a try, you may be lucky. Best way is to ring your council (or the area that the road is in) and complain to them, they'll send you a claim form. If it's not their jurisdiction they'll make that quite clear straight away so I would say that's the best place to start.
