Wow, an automatic as well?! What is it running on, pixie dust and sunshine? :hehe:

I'm like Ormi and Stav, 280 around town if I'm lucky. 350 on motorway if I drive with a girly foot (that is, very lightly, not wearing high heels. Sorry girls).

350 miles on a combo of motorways and town.

410 miles just on motorway, regularly get this as I'm currently driving 650 miles a week, need to use the cruise set to max of 80mph though.

Also need to think about getting a diesel!!

The answer to this is not to have a turbo! Ormi & Sparkystav, your 220 miles to a tank is 14.3 mpg and 260 is 16.9mpg if you use up every drop in the tank. Extra performance is never free - although my ISF (5l V8) is never as bad as these figures! Look on the IS200 spec to get a rough idea of what economy can just about be achieved - but in the real world rarely is.

second tankfull today. 387 miles

but must admit i drive like a purple rinser going to bingo.!!!!!

my second month with the lexus, and although i'm saving on petrol

the rest of the car is costing me a fortune.

to try and solve the front nearside 'knock'

i've paid for a new lower ball joint

and a new link arm.

whilst the wheel was off the mechanic noticed

splits and tears on the inside of the nearly new tyre....

so on with 2 new fronts.

drive away £400 lighter

and has the 'knock' gone.? has it F@@K

so along with the recent

cambelt and service

i am now £800 out of pocket

and my love affair with the lexus is waning fast.........

i can get 430miles out of a full tank or 230miles from half. I usually get this by trying to get the MPG needle around 35 - 40 but make sure you keep your eyes on the road at the same time :P

To sum it all up. Nobody should buy an IS200/300 for economy. Nobody should buy one for tyre-burning performance. Trouble-free, looks that are still stylish and a pleasure to drive - that's enough.

the love affair is back on......... :hehe:

finally after fitting

a new drop link arm.

a new bottom ball joint

greasing all calliper slide pins

copperslipping all the bits

that like copperslipping

i've cured the 'knock'

it was the feckin shock absorber.............

now the only other shock to sort out

is the one to my wallet.

420 motorway miles when light comes on for me,

about 320 mixed roads!

IS is a heavy lump to keep acclerating, but the vvti is too tempting :)

One of the lads I work with got an audi A8 'supertanker' V8 barge. £140 fill up. 230 miles if he drives nicely. :o !!!!!!

I could get about 400 to a tank if driven gently but just recently I found it went to below 300. So i took the airfilter out and cleaned it (it was ditched) which i think made it better but i have now put a new k&n drop in airfilter in and im back upto normal.

I get 280-300 around town, and 320-350 with a mix of dual carriageway and town - so sounds like you're doing pretty well :)

I get about the same here depending on how i drive. :shifty:
