Hi guys

Count me in. I have had my GS300 nearly a year now.

Best six grand I ever spent on a car.

I was well pleased last week when the AA guy who replaced a duff fuse (long story) said he had not seen a cleaner GS300.

Now as a sport lookalike my local Lexus dealer reckons I would give me seven and a half grand in PX for a Mk2 sport they have in at twenty two grand.

I am tempted but really prefer the Mk1 shape.

My Mk1 is running sweet-as-a-nut.

Running it for 9mths now (about 10,000 mls), and all I've had to spend maintenance-wise was a tenner for my air-con to be gassed-up (drinking buddy at the pub).

Couple of minor alarm-related niggles, but nothing to cause me putting my hand in my pocket (yet).

Oh yes, I had to buy an MOT for it in the summer!

:D Ive had mine since April, prefer the shape to the Mk 2, its done a genuine 72K, is in ex condition and Ive only seen two more in my travels around Essex.

Running costs, not a lot only problem really was the aircon. unfortunately no mate in the pub so cost me in total near £200, but worth the money.

Got to be honest i always thought the mk2 to was ugly  and a bit hyundi looking but the sport model mk2 is realy growing on me and is close to the top of my list for my next car.Funny how the more you see something the better you like it ,apart from the missus that is :P

Love my MK1 !!!!!!

Love going into the filling station and buying a top up of petrol for a fiver!!! (LPG conversion) people thinking "he wont get far with that"

It's a lot of car for little money.

My lady friend say's that if I could get my car through the front door, up the stairs, into the bedroom, I'd.... Sorry too much information!!!

I fell in love with a MK1 when they came out but couldn't afford one then, so when I ditched the company car a couple of year ago I bought a nearly new MKII. Still think the MKI looks a boss motor though, and there are some cracking examples around.

Anyway, talking of different versions and looks, I have just got this weeks AutoExpress and can honestly say the new B*W 5 series is the most bl**dy awful creation yet! Did they not realise they had it wrong with the 7! A friend of mine had one and reckons it takes 30 seconds to change the radio station using the "I" drive.

They can keep it! I expect to see many examples being driven around in broad daylight with the fog lights on soon!!!

had my mk1 sport for about 2 yrs now.

trouble free motoring if you don't count the numerous rear tyres i've fitted and the f*****g air con still refusing to work

my only gripe is the fact that theres no space in the car ( boot /back seat )

thinking of changing next year, but what to only *** knows

Had my Mk1 Sport for 9 months, done 23,000 nearly trouble free miles - if you exclude the uneven tyre wear - apart from that the only annoyance was a slight knocking/tapping coming from the front passenger side. I think something is tapping the windscreen in the left hand corner - as soon as it rains or I wash the car it dissapears and only starts again after a long period of either no rain or me not getting around to washing her :whistling:

Have to say for the money I paid I could have got a MK2 but though I like the front I just feel they forgot to finish the back end and just chopped it off. You do see a fair few Mk1 around Yorkshire and the NE.

The MK1. Automotive pornography. I have had mine 1 year and 1 month and its the bizz. However, all good things must end and its up for sale. I have been seduced by another Japanese beauty with a pair of exhaust driven wind pumps, T bar roof and a thirst that would put Olly Reed and George Best under the table. Problem is, they are now owned by Renault I believe. Anyway, first £3500 gets my sport lookalike with 6 months rent and mot and an appointment with the surgeon to have there hand sewn back on :P

DLJ you must be in a different Essex to me , I saw three Mk1's on my travels today, around Basildon Wickford and Rayliegh. As far as I can tell there are three in Benfleet.

I bought my mk1 on an impulse , wasn't looking for one but there it was R reg. genuine car with 16,000 miles from new, only done 126 miles in four months since it's MOT. slapped £5k in his hand and drove off. Wife loves it now I fitted reverse sensors.

Another rekindled topic....

I sold my original one and couldn't bond with the 300ZX so the only option was to replace it with another one bit this time in my fave colour, White, which apparently is called grey.

Got noooo plans to sell this beauty and even less now that it has its 10" rears.

Boys and there toys eh.
