  1. i read on .net a while ago that someone has changed some of the instrument light colours, involves using LEDS, i requested some info but nothing has been recieved yet. - anyone willing to take thiers out and have a look?? i might end up doing it anyway!:o
  2. you can get the clear rear fogs on Ebay for $40 or even cheaper, a lot will ship to the UK via UPS.
  3. check that the gearbox is smooth, if its notchy in 1st or 2nd then the syncro ring/hub is worn - a know problem on the IS200's. be warned
  4. £600!!! how much!!:o i had a look at thier web site, few things i would like to point out to people - they say it is 98% invisible, that is not strictly true, the material itself is pretty well invisible BUT the edge is really obvious after a while ( build up of polish/wax and dirt sticking to the edge). General observations now - The plastic film extends up the bonnet about 35cm so you will still get chips further up, but u stop the majority. I dont really think you need it on the headlights as they are plastic, would have to be a real big stone to chip/damage those, if it was glass then fair enough! As for the wheel arches - i cant comment on the rear ones but for the front the plastic protectection is a small triangle about 10 cm in length that covers just the very upper tip of the wing. to make things clear i got the X-pel kit for the IS300 - includes bonnet, wing mirrors and front wheel arches for $99 I had to cut it slightly but i know which kit i would rather spend cash on! ;)
  5. use a very mild soap solution, i used a tiny bit of baby shampoo and a real soft brush to clean my passenger seat, dont put too much water on the seat just enough to dampen the dirty area, give it a scrub then use a bit of clean water and then a cloth to dry up most of the area and ur done.
  6. hi, yes i still have it on, its been on for about a year now and no probs at all i have got 1 chip that has gone thru the plastic but that is the only one i have got in the first 6 months i had loads so pleased with it. when washing there are no probs only thing is if you wax/polish u get a build up along the edge of it ( its the same stuff thats on the rear wheel arch). The kit i had was for an IS300 and as i found out the front profile is slightly different so a little cutting was required, once that was done it was easy to put on, no real dramas. if i was going to get another car it would be the first thing i do to it. you can get IS200 specific kits in the UK but they were charging a fortune, dont know about now????
  7. ok, what you need to do to get rid of that pink light is get a set of red LED bulbs. There are many companies that do them but i have a set from APC, on the 300 in the US it brings on the bulb warning light so people get them then sell them on after the warning starts to bug them so u can find them cheap:D, i got my set for $20 a set wil normally cost $40 to get a proper light output ie bright, from them, you will need to heat the plastic casing a bit and bend the bulb 90 degrees ony takes 5 mins, this is because of the way an LED works and also the way the bulb is positioned inside the reflector.
  8. What you have to remember is that the cars would have been thrashed before we ever got our hands on them, so i wouldnt worry about a running in period just do normal driving.
  9. 1. achey breaky heart - billy ray cirus 2.any rage against the machine song 3.beautiful people - marylin manson 4.singing in the rain. 5. any dave & alan song 6.hot stuff - donna summer. fair combination there!
  10. i have read the reviews as well but i am more willing to believe the car mechanics review http://www.ecotekplc.com/car_mechanics.htm which did indeed show an improvement in emmissions but was less convinced on performance/fuel saving. now if my calculations are correct ( based on the total load of horse xxxx principle) if u fit one of these things and that magnet around the fuel line and energy saving tires you should get a 90% saving in fuel costs but if u use those magic oil suplements which add 90 rwhp you actually have to stop every 200 miles and drain fuel out of the tank it is so efficient! :P
  11. the car will re lock if you have disarmed the system and do not open a door, but what mats talking about is the car locking itself without the button on the key fob being activated as in my situation: came back from shops, key out of the ignition getting stuff out of the boot and i heard a clunk and the doors had locked! WTF! i had the key in my hand and had not pressed the lock button - I was holding it by the key fob. anybody else had this - apart from mat!
  12. well going by the pics it just provides multiple earth pathways as for improving performance....... a roll of the dice says ... B******S and con springs to mind, im very sceptical about things like this unless i see it actually working first hand.
  13. hi kamlex, Best to chat to notoriousrev as he has had an LPG system fitted to the IS200, here is a quick link to give u an idea of whats involved but also type LPG into the search , there are a few more posts on the subject. http://teamlexus.co.uk/forums/viewthread.php?tid=243

hi all, well i was back home in under 4 hours so not bad to lands end! saw quite a few accidents on the way. oh for the people that use the M40/42 a lot - unmarked plod car V reg and ending with CCV BMW 3 series in grey/blue you have been warned! and no i didnt get pulled:D Chris, was that u i passed on m42???
  15. if u get last weeks auto-express they have a massive review of cleaning products and the best interior cleaner was Comma interior clean and it is a matt finish and best of all its only £4!! armour all also came close:D
  16. its funny you say about the S/C kit only being suitable for the auto model, in The Netherlands you can get the S/C as an extra but only to the auto model they will not even entertain the idea of fitting one to a manual.
  17. you shouldnt have to replace the aircon gas unless you have a leak in the system, it is best to run the sytem every now and then to keep the system lubricated and prevent the seals from drying out - common cause of leaks BTW they used to use freon but now its been replaced by a ozone friendly alternative.
  18. hi andy, the sport styling kit is from TTE anyway!
  19. yeah thats a good price but the labour charge might be a fair amount?
  20. for the IS200 mobile adaptor it is about £87+tax? it it an amplifier that fits behind the c pillar trim and connects into the radio. for me its not worth it i just use one of those ear piece things £5 from a market and it works fine:D
  21. i have the x-pel kit on mine which stops a lot of chips but it only covers the front 40 cm of the bonett so u will still get chips further up the hood. but beware: if you order the kit from the US obvoiusly its for the is300,, the kit wont fit properly unless you do a slight mod.
  22. I fitted parking sensors to mine a while ago i have 3 at the rear and 2 at the front ( i park in a tight space), i had to remove the front and rear bumpers and drill a few holes, it was easy but time consuming. ill get some pics later for you.
  23. i asked the dealer if anyone had complained before about the paint and it was a no! this i am surprised about as ever the clear coat is really soft - brush past and u have a scratch!!
