  1. i dont think i will be able to make it - i might be working - but then i dont know what im doing in 2 days time! you know the score anyway steve!.
  2. hi chris, i have painted mine and it looks fine, the only thing that you have to watch out for and i cant stress this enough !!!!! as the plastic is flexible and paint isnt, the paint will come right off , if when you are fitting them you happen to flex the mudguard a bit more than normal ggggrrrrr:mad: as i found out by mistake! take an extra 10 mins fitting them and you will be ok!
  3. hi andy, have a look here http://teamlexus.co.uk/forums/viewthread.php?tid=909 basic point use a decent paint, wont matter if its high temp or not - calipers are not going to get that hot to bubble paint - might get warm thats it.
  4. the standard bulbs are 51w, so dont know much brighter the piaa will be althought they are meant to be 'whiter' . i have some 70w fitted at the mo but i have seen much better light output on other cars so will be looking for some brighter ones shortly.
  5. yep the stickers are available in the UK, the guy who does them (Jarrett) replied quickly to me, and they arrived after about a week - he is in hawaii. Only thing is that one of the'lexus' stickers should be reversed so that when they are on the front calipers they are both orientated the same way. apart from that i am happy with them. - chat to him about postage.
  6. they get away with selling them under the discription " not for road use" or words to that effect. There isnt a prob with using them in the UK they are not going to be checked by anyone - unless you have mega mega bright lights, plod might issue a "fix" ticket. but they are not going to start pulling ur bulbs out at the road side.
  7. i know one of the guys that arrested " goody two shoes" mandela back in his so called "activist" days.
  8. If the item does not carry an E or an EC mark it means that the item has not been approved/tested for use within the European Community - everything you buy now will have an E or EC mark on it. this site has some more info http://www.mira.co.uk/electrical/page9.html
  9. i saw skippy when i was in Oz - unfortunatley for him it was skippy the road kill kangaroo!

    Aristo TV screen

hi ranj, Your best bet would be to go to a specialist ICE shop they should be able to help you out. But as a bit of back ground i was looking at an altezza with a TV reciever/screen fitted but it would require about £600 of electronic mods to get it to work.
  11. ill send you it mat, think its still clean? - its been next to the litter tray:P ill have a look LOL pm me ur address again.
  12. there is no vibration sensor for the alarm system on the IS, there is however i believe an internal sensor which works on ultra sonics. So it would be possible for the vibration/pressure waves from the gas turbine exhaust gases to set off the alarm system. a while ago we had a really rough night 60/70 mph wind gustsand the alarm did go off but it only did it once.
  13. For those of you that want some pretty detailed info on amp/sub instalations have a look at .net -loads of info there and SOME members are very helpful. ill get the front speaker post sorted soon.
  14. Working on doing a post about changing your front speakers (is200/300 applications) people be interested in this??????
  15. talking of nocturnal manouvers ( ahem) dont bother going to see 'queen of the damned' total load of toss to put it very mildly!!
  16. mmmmm! think ill pass on your burgers in that case!!!!!:o
  17. the reply for lexus aberdeen is the biggest load of toss i have ever read!!!! reacting with the holes that have been drilled???? i am assuming the bumper is plastic but if its fibreglass that would then suggest that they didnt reprotect the edges! i think its just an excuse as it might be a hastle for them to drill the holes!, the washers just bolt on to the fog light attachments so not much changes there.
  18. i had my calipers replaced so before the new ones were fitted i painted them ( black), i used a high temp paint, but to be perfectly honest i dont think you need to,( under normal driving conditions that is). I would recommend an epoxy type paint though as it is more durable or household radiator enamel would be fine. Painting them on the car wouldnt be too hard, i say this as then you dont have to ***** around bleeding them afterwards, get some axle stands and support the car ,use 4 if you can. by the time you have painted the 4th caliper the first one would be dry. when cleaning use a detergent and a stiff brush or some saftey solvent so you dont knacker the seals!!! if you are applying the stickers make sure you use a laquer over the top of everything - easier to clean and dtops them from peeling at the jet wash. 19. it you look on ebay(uk) they are going for £300 and thats for the mk2 version.
  20. no probs at all! Just to say if you look at the pic you can also see the wing pieces as well, as i say they are only about 8 - 10 cm long and cover just the tips of the wing.
  21. mat and i have discussed this subject in depth before on another board and we believe you can get the front end with cutouts for the washers. Mat can confirm the answer with tte?.
  22. on the service they used magnatec, but i would just use any good synthetic oil.
  23. Hi Dave and welcome, for supercharger info use the search facility in the top left hand corner, - there is a lot of info in posts similar to yours, just too much to list here (sorry!) I dont have any probs with regard to pulling to one side or the other when changing gear, does it do it all the time and only at those revs/gear combination??
  24. i had my wheels, calipers and discs replaced about 6 weeks ago because of corrosion/rust etc that was at about 26K
  25. Hi, just wondering how many IS owners have had noises form the front area?? i think it might be an anti roll bar bushing or something like that, i noticed it as i was turning into a side road at about 25mph click ,click etc :o:P:( also those of you that know my saga with the gearbox, well the 2nd gear prob has come back again on the new gearbox, but only when the car is cold thru to 1/2 up to norm operating temperature. when its hot it doesnt really do it. and as my dealer is about 70miles away it doesnt do it then!!!! anyway have got it booked in next week for a few days so they can find the prob.
