  1. Bare back no lube needed & welcome to the club from another merc convert. On my 3rd ls now nothing else compares.
  2. Hi Just a pic of under the bonnet of mine, Took a while to get it sorted but has been fine scince for near on 10,000 miles
  3. I think there is a limit to how many people would convert to lpg, Also there are probably a lot that would convert but can't due to longer manufacturers warranties . You also need to trust that your car is going to last long enough to pay back. Some people are sceptics. (put off by the horror stories). Think of this if everyone converted to lpg Petrol would then be the bye product & the price of lpg would go through the roof. Looking forward to seeing the pics of your install, Mark
  4. Messi they don't have more power, It was just a handling option for the uk market.
  5. Hi I bought my 430 04 plate in January for £3500 with 94k on it the only thing it needed was a sensor sorting out, I went back to a 400 after 5 weeks ( just my preference) The 430 is a fantastic car but too many toys for me & the build quality isn't quite the same as the 400. With the one you are looking at figure on £2500 for a proper re spray ( not a cheap car).
  6. I will be in the same boat next year good luck, I will be looking for a garage with living accommodation.
  7. Hi the boot seal is leaking, Common problem remove it clean all around , run a bead of silicone around the metal lip replace seal job done. If you leave the car parked facing down hill the problem is worse as the water pools in the corners.
  8. I would say its a good buy at a good price, £1200 lpg conversion & cambelt just done. If I was in the market I would go for it.
  9. It is nice to see there are still decent people left in the society that we live in.
  10. If its as nice as it looks a cheeky £1700 bid may get it for £1800.
  11. My mate from Liverpool tested a couple when he was changing his 93 ls400, He now has a ls430, the Bentley wasn't as quiet or as well nailed together in his opinion.
  12. Yes first borns or new borns probably woudn't fetch enough to buy 2 guitars, Its the running costs that put people off. New born's are notorious for having teething problems. First born's get more & more expensive to maintain as they get older. Anything in between & you are just waiting for the day when they are going to give you a whole heap of trouble. A strait swap for a 12 year old Alfa Romeo is more of a realistic expectation ( not 2 fine guitars )
  13. Or one of those people that allegedly the police called an MP last year.
  14. Hi I am after a mark3 or 4 passenger side mirror in silver pre 99, If they have an immaculate one.
  15. Be good for them long things you buy at B&Q (other companies are available)
  16. Adrian flux or sky seem to give me the best quotes, but its gone up 50% over 4 years. get a Vcam & Adrian flux give an extra 15% discount.
  17. It looks like you have some hefty bills coming your way (hopefully not), was it an auction sales or online auction.did you pay by credit card & how was the car described. You may have some form of redress there. If you bought it at an auction site & only paid £2k or so for the car you have room to fix it & still have the car at the right price. You may be best off sending it back through auction & looking privately for the right car. Sorry I can't be of more help but I am sure someone will come along soon with some more useful tec advice. Best of luck Mark. If it was mine I would re auction it & get a perfect Mark 4 ls400 . I was in a similar boat in January went from a ls400 to a facelift 430 (which I wasn't convinced about) back to a mint ls 400.
  18. My thoughts exactly thats why I thought it might be a wind up (sorry) worst case they should last double that mileage. I would expect around 150k before these sort of issues. Its a prestige motor car (in pursuit of perfection) 40 k for wishbones is far from perfect ( a 7 year old Dacia with 40 k maybe but not a top of the range Lexus)
  19. I have been having a think I would take the car to a lexus dealer for inspection, 40k seems way to short for these components to last unless you are driving up rough tracks every day. The original post could also be a wind up.
  20. These parts from a to z are very poor 3 to 6 months at least on the ls400 wishbones I had supplied, I cannot imagine that you need 8 wishbones after 40,000 miles unless you have used it as a rally car. Is it a regular garage you know & trust (if not get a second opinion).
