  1. My wife has a Pride Go Go Sport, and at the moment I can lift it into the rear of my 450H manually, after removing the front basket, seat and battery pack, after folding down the tiller. It fits sideways against the rear of the seats, and I place the removed articles around it. I will eventually be looking at a hoist when I am unable to lift it manually. Please report back if you find a lift and have it installed as I think this will be a topic that will help others
  2. The options available to customers are detailed in the owners handbook, which if you do not have a hard copy can be accessed though the Lexus website if I recall.
  3. I am sure I read somewhere that holding the car on the brakes when discs are hot could warp the discs or melt particles onto the surface creating ridges, possibly in the LS forum. I always shift to P when stood at lights, as I always did with my LS400.
  4. My 450H SE-L late 2009, which I bought January 2017, according to the accompanying documentation did have a replacement air suspension unit changed. The ride is fine, and the ability to raise the vehicle when driving on unmade roads going to shooting makes life a lot easier to avoid bottoming out .
  5. Is that a legal plate in respect of MOT compliance ? The character spacing seems correct, but doesn't the plate have to be a certain size? checking GOV.UK id did find this extract The British Standard for number plates The British Standard sets out the characteristics of the number plate. This includes visibility, strength and reflectivity. To meet the British Standard, each number plate must be permanently and legibly marked with the following information. n The British Standard number (currently BS AU 145d) n The name, trademark or other way of identifying the manufacturer or supplier n The name and postcode of the supplying outlet
  6. When changing any of these type of batteries, you must be careful not to touch them so that you short it out, as this reduces the power of the battery, Use a pair of plastic tweezers or a pair of vinyl gloves to prevent that from happening.
  7. The part you refer to is the Rear Seat belt comfort guide, on the outside rear seats. The manual says If the shoulder belt sits close to a person's neck, use the seat belt comfort guide. Pull the comfort guide from the pocket. Slide the belt past the slot of the guide, the elastic cord must be behind the seat belt. Obviously when not in use, place back in the pocket on side of seat.
  8. Maybe the registration was changed for that period. When my DHP was taken away from me by the insurance as uneconomical to repair, I moved the plate to my RX. A new plate was put on the DHP . I'm not sure if the MOT history is reallocated to the new plate, so possibly is lost for the period I owned it.
  9. RX450H SE-L 2009 12k miles annual 6k miles business £725.00 xs - renewal quote £513.89 up from £495.90. West Sussex post code near Gatwick
  10. I carry my wifes' disability buggy in the rear of my SE-L and have a LEXUS rubber boot mat to protect the floor, and use a blanket that I rollout over the bumper to protect it. I have tucked the end under the boot flap, over the spare wheel, to keep it from slipping out. Maybe not elegant but does the job.
  11. I have a 2009 RX450H SE-L that has air suspension and DAB. I find the ride comfortable as does my wife. My son-in-law, who drives a C class AMG, was impressed with the ride. I see in the service history and repairs that a strut was replaced, but that may not be indicative of a problem across the range. With regard to the DAB radio I must confess to not using it a lot as I do not travel long distances regularly and tend to use the CD or Hard Drive for my music.
  12. I got Halfords to do it when putting my private plate on. They used sticky pads after cleaning the surface after removing the old plates. Insurance company was paying so cost no bother.
  13. I believe that the DHP (Dynamic Handling Pack) was only available on the MKIV, the model with touchscreen Sat Nav and 1 piece headlamp/sidelight.
  14. Have you spoken to the previous owner/dealer/garage ?
  15. I changed from a MK IV LS400 to my and initially found it somewhat larger, but with a higher driving position and the cameras etc now find it a dream to drive. It has also slowed me down somewhat, although I have been known to let her rip occasionally to clean her out. I looked around for a week or so and test drove and bought the first one I saw, as I was placed in a position where I needed a vehicle as the LS400 was written off by insurance company. I haven't regretted the choice even though I was thinking of an LS460 or maybe 600H before the write off.
  16. No such finery on a 450H, the socket is in the centre armrest console next to the USB socket.
  17. How large is your charger? I have my Iphone cable attached to the USB port and a two way splitter in the 12v socket and attach my dashcam and GPS camera alert box to that, and theres loads of room under the bin.
  18. I have to lift my wife's disability scooter into the back of my 450H, and to prevent damage to the bumper scratchwise, I placed on old blanket in the rear with one edge tucked under the boot floor flap. I just pull it out and let it drop down over the whole of the bumper when mover the scooter in or out of the car. The plan is to fit a hoist when I'm not able to life it myself, but consider this my visit to the gym.
  19. I have changed from an LS400 to an RX450H and find the change welcome, if not expensive. I travelled from Sussex to Tyne and Wear yesterday a journey of just over 300 miles and showed an average mpg of 31.3 mpg travelling on the M23 M25 A1 and A19 at legal speeds. The hybrid part comes into its own when creeping on the M25 in traffic queues. I find the RX easier and more comfortable to drive than my LS which being DHP was that bit lower than the standard model, and I enjoy the higher driving position and the view it affords. The extra toys help also. my wife prefers the RX as it is easier for her to enter and exit, and there is lots of room for her disability scooter.
  20. I used t o have to move into the centre of the road and run over both speed bumps in my DHP with it being lower than the standard 400. I found I had more trouble with the rear catching on the humps. No problem now as I have changed over to an RX450H, so now straddle any bumps without problems.
