  1. I would try changing the transmission fluid first before thinking of changing the TC. Make sure you only use Toyota T-IV fluid.
  2. It's in showrooms and available for test drive and stock has arrived over the last couple of weeks so some owners have got them before launch date. The 3.5l engine has been built for the new GS and IS, the JDM GS will have the 3.5l engine. Not sure why they have the 3.0l at the moment - possibly for the AWD. They may also use this new 3.0l engine as the bases for the next gen hybrids rather than the old technology 3.3l engine currently being used.
  3. The old sport (1998-2000) I believe just have different springs (TTE - Eibachs) The newer sport (2003+) has different springs/shocks and anti-roll bars.
  4. Don't fully functioning microwaves chuck out a shed loads of crap on the 2.4Ghz range anyway? Everytime we use ours it kills the cordless phones, tv sender and my wireless lan, good job it only takes one minute to cook a burger!! ← They cook on the 2.4Ghz range, ideally you don't want any leakage as you want that energy to heat what's in the oven not outside it - there are recommendations of the amount of leakage. As the oven gets old the leakage can increase.
  5. The 300 isn't really lacking in power, it is faster than the IS200 although doesn't feel it being smoother and quieter. However it does lack excitement which is where the 430 comes in.
  6. Depends if you have the money for, or bother with, insurance
  7. Let's just say the club runs better without those counters.
  8. The admins are trying to resolve the on-going performance issues with this site and by removing the names it reduces the server load.
  9. You would probably find a better deal away from Lexus although if pushed the salesmen will bring down that ARP % quite a lot.
  10. You may want to check the door on your microwave is nice and clean and the seals are not damaged. I wouldn't have thought there would be that much leakage on a fully working oven.
  11. Sounds like the electronic throttle shut down. You need to press the accelerator down all the way to get any response. You need to get the stored error codes from the ECU otherwise we are just guessing what the cause is. Either take it to a Lexus dealer or somebody with an OBD-II reader to get the codes.
  12. Looks like Lexus GB don't know what the true stats are. The link from Raz states 300 bhp for the 4.3 but their latest press release gives a figure of 282 bhp http://www.lexus.co.uk/news.php?page=article&id=geneva Sadly I feel the second figure will be the correct, the Euro version being 20bhp down on the US engine.
  13. From Lexus GB web site The existing RX300 stats are: 0-62mph in 9.0 seconds 23.2 mpg combined cycle CO2 288g/km
  14. I think they want you to go to your local dealer.
  15. The gap on standard GSs is very big. One of the reasons I haven't put my 18" wheels on my car. You have 3 choices. 1 - Get the GS sport suspension (2003 onwards) 2 - Coilovers 3 - Eibach springs Of the 3 the Eibach springs would be the worst option. Fitted those to my 1998 GS and although it looked better being lowered 30mm and the body roll was better the springs never felt matched to the shocks and just highlighted the shortcomings of the GS suspension set up. This may be better on face lifted models as the suspension set up was improved anyway but I wouldn't waste my money on another set. Brettster your GS does look lower because yours is a GS Sport and is lower. Matt's as a GS SE with sport pack which never had lowered suspension because it took Lexus nearly 3 years to try and get a good set up. That is why the sport was stopped at the end of 2000 and didn't come back until mid 2003.
  16. You just need a blank key and get it cut. The electronics inside can just be swapped over.
  17. Look here: http://www.lexus.co.uk/approved.php?area=h...on=&metacolour=
  18. Need to know the part numbers on your disc. There are different versions of Nav unit which require different discs.
  19. I would contact Lexus GB and ask them if it is possible - it is on most models so I don't see why it isn't on the RX. Did you ask your dealer? It wouldn't be the first time a dealer has said something cannot be done when it can.
  20. There are 3 part numbers - 2 printed on the disc and another one printed on the box (this is the number you would normally use to order) The part number will normally be very close to your original disc. e.g. if you have 86271 24121 then the next one would be 86271 24122. If the numbers are completly different then it is probably for a different version of nav unit unless Toyota have changed their numbering.
  21. If you can find all the parts required from the scrap yard then you can fit the OEM system but will take many hours to do. It you wanted to buy the parts new then you are looking at £5000.
  22. It is up to you if you want the belt changed or not. You are correct the service book doesn't state a time (although it does in other countries). I would say the belt is good for 10 years as it is with the newer ones (100k miles)
