  1. the alarm won't drain the battery in a week.
  2. The reflectors on the IS300 are designed for HIDs and will give a slightly better light output compared to 200 lights with HID bulbs so just fit the 300 lights.
  3. search on google for o2 simulator there are lots about. Probably have to get one from the US. You either need a proper 4 wire simulator or just a 2 wire simulator and keep the other 2 wires connected to the heater on the existing O2 sensor otherwise you will get a CEL as the ECU can detect a failed heater circuit as well as incorrect readings coming from the sensor.
  4. I believe the extra wires run to the exterior mirrors to control them. You won't need to use those wires usless you have new mirrors as well.
  5. Hope you are not comparing Ford's IPS with the Lexus pre crash system? Ford's IPS is not pre-crash. The pre-crash system will be probably be an option combined with the cruise control and will cost about £2200 extra as it does on the latest LS and new GS.
  6. Not that fortunate as it only gives you a very limited throttle range, just enough to make it possible to drive to a garage.
  7. so there isn't a true reading after about 6,000 rpm so the 6841rpm is just rubbish.
  8. what are the numbers along the bottom of the graphs? Cannot make them out.
  9. torque curve should be like this: power:
  10. I hope that rev speed isn't right. Are you sure he set up the equipment for a 6 cylinder engine?
  11. GS is about 8cm wider so may be difficult to get it to fit.
  12. Not much talk about it at the moment. I think all models will have a hybrid option - may use the 3.5l engine that is going into the new GS350 / IS350 (maybe). There is also talk of the new LS420 for mid 2006 and possibly something like an LS500. Should also be a new SC soon as that is being launched as a Lexus model in Japan soon and the car the existing model is based on isn't made any more (series II GS)
  13. being vvti or not has nothing to do with the valve seats. All Toyota engines require a flashlube.
  14. Yes I believe they come with a full tank now. Would have thought most salesmen would give you a full tank anyway (or at least half) as part of the deal.
  15. Not that many, most are because they are just modified . Three of the best benefits of a saloon are less noise, better security and better safety because the boot is sealed off.
  16. you DISLIKE the wood? what would you rather see? ← I agree with not having the wood. It's meant to be a modern car not an old Rover. May look okay with black wood but would rather see aluminium, CF or just the dashboard material. They messed up the series II RX by having wood and aluminium together without giving buyers the choice of just alumunium. Hopefully there will be a choice this time.
  17. Just looks like a cheap version of the new GS. Lost it's own identity.
  18. It would be a multichanger. The only specs are what the press release states so you know as much as the rest of us. Best thing about the new IS is they have stopped wasting time/money/interior space by putting in a cassette deck. MP3 quality is bad enough without making it even worse by using a cassette adaptor!
  19. It may be that the shape of the new IS doesn't catch as many stones as the old model but the same paint is used throughout the Lexus range - all water based and too soft.
  20. What does it do Colin? Is this why you're not supposed to tow an Auto for any distance? ← You shouldn't tow most autos because when the engine is off the fluid is not being pumped around the transmission. Putting it into N is not a bad but fluid is not going around as fast as it perhaps should which could cause temperatures to rise.
