  1. it has the shift up/shift down mode on the gear selector like the latest RX and LS. No there won't be a true manual version.
  2. yes they use the same sensor. be careful using jump leads, you don't want to blow ECUs within the car!
  3. probably a faulty battery. No reason to think it's the boot light. Never heard of that problem before and isn't there a warning light on the dash if the boot is open? You wouldn't have one on without the other.
  4. Gasket price really isn't too much of an issue and I would rather have the quality Toyota ones, the main cost is the labour of removing/replacing the heads and getting them checked for warping and skimming.
  5. All UK RX300s have DVD nav and as your model is new it will have full road coverage of France. I believe the Lexus/RAC breakdown assistance does cover Europe http://www.lexus.co.uk/owning.php?page=roadside
  6. there are little clips that push on to the lugs on the back of the badge. Only cost pence from your dealer.
  7. My GS300 was a series II, I haven't tried a series I with Eibachs so I wouldn't make a decision based on my quote above. I am also very critical of the GS suspension, others people aren't and would probably find the Eibachs on the series II acceptable.
  8. I think converting the car back to standard would be worth the hassle, probably get £2-3k more that way.
  9. JZS147 is the series I and JZS161 is the series II
  10. IS300 is about 4k more than the IS200 GS430 was about 4k more than the GS300. and the 400h sort of compares to the X5 4.4i SE in performance terms and that starts at £48k (£51k if you try and spec it to a SE-L and falls short on quite a few options)
  11. You can get them from Lexus dealers.
  12. Does that mean there'll be a GS300 and a GS350 next year, or are they replacing the 300 with the 350? Would be strange to have both on the GS, but only the 350 on the IS ← It is a bit odd. It looks like the 300 won't be available in Japan and they are getting the 350. Don't know why this is or why Toyota have developed two new engines.
  13. I meant there isn't a date. The GS350 isn't out until next year so I guess the IS may come out at the same time. If the UK gets it or not is a different matter.
  14. The lexus.jp site have now been updated to include the new IS. http://lexus.jp/
  15. if you have curtain airbags or isofix rear seat fixings or the new style dash then you have brake assist and electronic brake force distribution. I must say I haven't noticed any different in the brake pedal feel between pre and post facelift models. Sounds like you need to bleed the brakes or get the pedal adjustment checked.
  16. on my old GS I just compressed the springs and removed the springs/shocks without problem.
  17. worth thinking about the prolex fingerprint immobiliser
  18. cs are not pillow mounts so no noise ;)
  19. not sure of the actual weight but they should be lighter than the stock springs/shocks. the adjustment is done using the two claw spanners on the left of the pic. this table gives the pre-set ride height http://www.tein.com/csdamp.html
  20. So you are starting at the beginning of the week (Sunday morning) and will be complete that night :o :P
  21. how much is the actual part? Labour is probably at least 2/3 of that price so the saving for an inferior part won't be that much.
