  1. You can get pdf versions on ebay in the US. Would only be for the IS300 though as the IS200 isn't sold there.
  2. Used car warranty is not the same as the manufacturers warranty although still very good. 1 - What have you used to polish it out? It may just be under the wax, e.g. somebody not removing all the polish before applying wax. 2- Should be covered unless the light/lens has been damaged e.g. stone made hole in lens. 3 - You would be unlikely to get this under any warranty unless the car was delivered like it. Basically the tracking has been adjusted without the steering wheel being correctly centered.
  3. The GS is we know it is called the Aristo in Japan. All models are an Aristo so you cannot compare an Aristo to a Vertex. There are two main variants the S300 and the V300. The S300 is like the UK GS300 with the 2JZ-GE engine putting out around 220bhp. The V300 is the twin turbo 2JZ-GTE engine putting out 280bhp (although probably nearer 300bhp). Both the S300 and the V300 are available in standard form and the Vertex (some people incorrectly call it the Vortex). This is a higher spec model so you get a rear spoiler, HIDs, maybe bigger wheels etc. The V300 Vertex also gets active rear wheel steering. The S300 is also available in Walnut Package which is like the Vertex model + wood trim interior. Leather interior, sunroof and uprated stereos are options on all models.
  4. I would get the IS300. Nicer to drive and you have more modification possibilities. Insurance should be much cheaper as well.
  5. Gold discounts: http://www.goldmembers.co.uk/loc/forums/in...php?showforum=4
  6. I think the kit is about £3000 + VAT plus fitting, although it is possible to fit yourself.
  7. remove it. The whole kit can be removed, including the ECU piggyback, and I guess you would get at least half your money back selling it to another LOC member.
  8. Depends how much you overfill. Could foul the spark plugs making it misfire. Increase in crankcase pressure will force some oil into the intake, fouling the throttle body before being burnt causing blue smoke from exhaust. Excess oil could leak out of seals and gaskets and, if pressure gets very high, could even blow a seal. Crankshaft may come into contact with the excess oil which causes strain on the engine and reduces mpg. Crankcase could foam up the excess oil which could reduce oil pressure and cause oil starvation to the engine. Basically it's not a good idea to overfill your engine!
  9. It may be worth get the car tested on a rolling road. Unless the internal diameter of the intake tube is the same as the stock one the calibration of the MAF sensor will be incorrect. There have been owners in the US who have found their engine runs lean with an induction kit.
  10. You won't get a new IS until 2006 at the earliest.
  11. There's nothing wrong in owning a Toyota and they have models that are more expensive than most Lexus models. I own my car because I like it, not what others think. If Lexus didn't exist in the UK and the models were badged Toyota I would still have the same car.
  12. Welcome :) Common things to check for: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...ex_v2&id=16&c=3
  13. Lexus dealer for workshop manuals. Cost around £200 + for all the volumes.
  14. Latest SC430s have a can rather than runflat tyres.
  15. Yes most cars that have an SC as standard fitment have a clutch to disengage at low rpm. Saves wear on the SC and saves fuel when idling.
  16. that makes sense as the charcoal one is shown as an accessory. Still at 35 Euro I would have thought that was the charcoal one. If you have the standard one then washing it will be fine.
  17. That's fine for just removing bits from the air but it won't remove smells as the active charcoal contained within the filter will be used up/washed away.
  18. If there is a problem with the master cylinder/abs actuator then there is normally a buzzer that sounds continuously so hopefully it's not that serious. You need to take it somewhere that can read the error code stored which will give more of a clue to the problem. Has any work just been done on the vehicle?
  19. You should be able to cut down a charcoal filter from a kitchen extractor fan.
  20. I would have said the IS300 as well. You obviously like your IS200 and the IS300 just improves on it. I guess you need to decide what are the main things you are looking for in a car. Your current list is quite varied from coupes to 4x4, saloons and estates etc.
  21. The GS has a normal sender unit inside the fuel tank which controls the fuel guage.
  22. The IS200 one isn't all that either.
