  1. Told Lexus NOT to clean mine as I see on a daily basis how the valet guys wash cars. Not a pretty sight......
  2. Revised software getting uploaded to mine on the 31st. Seemingly it takes about an hour..
  3. You can get a much much better paint coating done outside the Lexus network. I've had three cars done with Gyeon with excellent long lasting results for around £275 per car. I'd also recommend getting the glass coated with GTeqniq, 40mph in heavy rain and you can have the wipers on the lowest intermittent setting.
  4. Just want to check with everyone to see if they get the same noise and rapid pulsing through the brake when switching on. Get in the car, foot on the brake, press the start button. Noise sounds like the ABS working and the brake pedal vibrates, only lasts for less than a second..
  5. You can get the Powermagic Pro which will monitor the 12 v battery and switch off the camera at a preset level. I've had one fitted with a BlackVue in an IS and NX with no problems at all.
  6. ps Why do we use "shock absorbers" rather than "dampers"? Americanisms creeping everywhere and hiding in your trunk....
  7. Probably demand versus cost in making them qualify for U.K. roads and other legal stuff.
  8. Had a similar thing on my IS when reversing out the drive on full lock. Nothing on the NX though..
  9. I've noticed the alerts come thru on FM but not on DAB even though both are selected to be on..
  10. You could also lean slightly to one side while lifting your leg 😃😃
  11. Feeding the baby too many carrots results in this colour in the nappy..
  12. Michael, its more of a low pitched groan/vibration when creeping forwards a couple of feet. I remember from times gone by that Jags of the seventies had a similar noise which was called brake grunt and was usually solved with copaslip. I've just gotten used to it by now..
  13. For the brake noise, I had that on my IS and the dealers cleaned and lubed the pads. The cure lasted a couple of weeks before returning and then I just lived with the groaning/creaking when creeping along in traffic. Now have an NX and it's got the same problem !!.
  14. On the NX, if you use the "hold" button at traffic lights, the brake lights stay on. But if you use the parking brake which is electrically operated, the brake lights don't come on.
  15. Pretty pleased with the NX, obviously plenty of room inside and no transmission tunnel. I'm getting about 10mpg less than the IS, but that's to be expected due to the heavier weight. Still 38-40 on urban roads isn't too bad. Lexus seems to have cut back on a couple of things which were standard on the IS luxury, like headlamp washers and flappy paddles, but at least you do get a spare wheel even though it's a space saver. I reckon I'll keep this one for a couple of years when have another look at an i3, a hoot to drive with its manic acceleration and only a couple of pounds to fill the battery.
  16. I ended up trading the IS for an NX a few weeks after the posting. Now got a black interior..
  17. 1st chock the front wheels securely so the car cant move. You can have the handbrake on or off when removing the wheel, but have it off when freeing up the caliper.
  18. But what are the warranty terms regarding loss of battery capacity. I would imagine that most manufacturers would repair/replace batteries if their capacity dropped below a specific number within a certain time frame.
  19. Initially had an IS300h for a couple of years and then changed to an NX. I think I'll hang onto it for 3-4 years and then look at an electric or plug in hybrid. The i3 tickles my fancy, but you never know what's coming in a couple of years..
  20. Mmm, sounds like a teacher giving the pupils a telling off for not paying attention !!!!
  21. Same thing happened to me on the last two chilly mornings. Just going to check the pressures and do a reset..
  22. Had mine around 5 months now and I've still not got round to figuring things out. I do know that you can have different "ensembles", but I've not explored it yet.
