  1. Wow, looks like they got it out a kids painting set... https://youtu.be/WTgGmyvq0ok
  2. Mine didn't freeze, but it reset itself several time just after startup. Turned out to be a loose 12v battery terminal in the boot.
  3. Now watch the values of the present models drop, bummer if you already own one, but no doubt some good deals if you're looking to buy shortly.
  4. I wonder if he'll pop up on an episode of "Can't pay, we'll take it away" as I don't really see him coughing up the fines and compensation..
  5. Probably the same daft reason that I can remember that "E3134" was the number for high lift cam shafts for 60's and 70's Truimph motorbikes
  6. Normal for the Accessory function to switch off, there must be a timer built into the system to protect the 12v capacity.
  7. Got the same problem on the drivers seat, but not quite as bad as yours. I've recently bought some touch up dye but as Lexus are replacing them under warranty, I'll see what they say in a couple of months when it goes in for a service. Question for the forum, does anyone get a noise from the front brakes, especially if facing downhill and slowly creeping forwards. I get quite a loud creaking/groaning even though the pads, discs and calliper so have been cleaned and lubricated.
  8. Just noticed a couple days ago that I also have a rusting wheel nut. Similar to the problem a couple of years ago on our Auris..
  9. Lexus Edinburgh are offering NX F-Sports for about £35,500 including some bells and whistles. They must need to shift them seeing as it's only on until the end of the month.
  10. Nice sunny Sunday so it's out with the hose and all the other gubbins, gave the back bumper a good polish and bingo, marks 95% gone. The only thing left is a very small light scratch in the lacquer about 20mm in length that you can barely see. I don't think I'll bother with the claim and repair as it'll take 3-4 days to do, plus I can't have it done for another 3 months. By that time I'll be looking at an NX with any luck.
  11. Had the rear bumper damaged by an old fart who didn't even realise he hit the car. Luckily my son was sat in the car at the time and was kind of suspicious as the other driver was very evasive about his details, the police were called. Turns out his car didn't have an MOT. Anyway, got all his details and more importantly, a police reference number. Went to the local Lexus dealers and got an estimate for the damaged paintwork, £657, realistically there is a chance that it may polish out or a smart repair may do the biz, but Lexus are removing repainting and refitting the bumper. You can just see the feint scuff below the reversing sensor. Contacted the Op's insurance and they have checked out the damage and agreed to pay for the repairs, no quibbling or arguing, in fact the assesors view was that the car was undamaged before the accident so I'm entitled to have it put back as new, can't complain at that. Now the next thing is, do I report this to my ow insurance ??, or do I not bother as the case is basically closed...
  12. Wouldn't really class it as screaming, yes the engine revs high but it's a steady rpm until the speed and power required are in sync. For a normal auto box, torque converter type, you get the revs rising to max and then dropping down when it changes up. Best thing to do is have a test drive in a CVT and see what you think, it takes a little while to get used to the way it works, but you'll soon get hooked on it.
  13. Virtually seamless acceleration after a slight pause while the engine reaches optimum revs. As above, the engine revs pretty high depending on the power needed, but in my opinion and contrary to the professional experts reviews, the CVT is virtually silent. It's the engine revs they hear, but they can't resist knocking anything that wasn't manufactured in Germany.
  14. My wife would like the RX, but with me being a tight git I'm opting for an NX. Handbags at ten paces to decide...
  15. Never really use the Sat Nav, I just go where I'm told 😅😅
  16. Blackvue camera specs would probably contradict your assumptions for both horizontal and vertical axis. Angle of view- Front -Diagonal 129°, Horizontal 103°, Vertical 77° | Rear -Diagonal 129°, Horizontal 108°, Vertical 57° 😐
  17. Here is a listing on Amazon, the cameras are not cheap, but they are pretty small and the front one can be hidden behind the rear view mirror. I also bought the Powermagic Pro to monitor the 12v battery condition so you can have recording/monitoring whilst parked. You can also do a search on them, plus check out "techmoan" videos on you tube. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blackvue-DR650GW-2CH-Camera-Driving-Recorder/dp/B00M4J5VUY
  18. Bummer!!!, this is one of the reasons I fitted a Blackvue front and rear camera that will constantly record 24/7.
  19. If it's genuine, I'll be looking for a refund of several hundred quid I paid to extend the warranty to 5 years..
  20. I just poked around in the fuse box in the pax footwell and found a constant feed, ign controlled feed and Earth. Cameras run constantly until a pre set battery voltage and then switch off.
  21. Ageism creeping into this topic. Same with distance traveled, you could easily argue that high mileage drivers become blasé as they think that the more they drive, the better they are. Everyone is an individual with their own abilities, good or bad. You could easily add drivers with a "get out of my way attitude, can't you see I'm more important and in a hurry with my nice shiny expensive car" or from the other end of the spectrum you get the " Hoodie and backwards ball cap in a **** box and no exhaust, trying to impress anyone who turns round to see what the noise is" . One thing I have noticed throughout the age spectrum, is that the attitude that the speed limit is the minimum I should be doing, instead of the maximum.
  22. Over this side of the border, just like dann safff, you're not allowed to record public areas. But, if you're parked on the street directly outside you're house, then it open to interpretation by the authorities so you can argue your case on protecting/monitoring your property (as advised by the polis..). Five cameras round the house seeing as I worked away for many years. Plus front and rear dash cams on the car to provide back-up in case of accidents.
  23. This is the best kind of filter tools, the harder you turn it, the tighter is grips. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/tools/car-service-tools/oil-service-tools/oil-filter-wrenches/?SEAAK640&0&t5_444
