  1. Take the dash cover off, if this cures the issue, don't put it back on and buy some polarised sun glasses for the glare/reflection.
  2. The check of the calipers I believe is more visual, to see if the pins slide, if they don't they're condemned out of hand as mentioned above. New calipers are then recommended. Bugger Linas beat me to it.
  3. @Peachy, How is the egr related to the vehicle stability system? What Shapor said.
  4. I found you down the side of the settee along with a Beano annual and a doobie.
  5. I cannot understand all the fuss as mentioned above, all you are insuring a car for, apart from the law says you have to have insurance or a surety, is in case of an incident, then you get someone else i.e, the insurance company, to pay for repairs etc. IF YOU WISH. You take out insurance because you have to, unless you're mega rich, then you don't need to.
  6. I believe leaving O2 sensors "for another day" is not good practice. Try this site for engine code diagnostics. Read carefully before you start parts swapping. http://www.autocodes.com/p0430_lexus.html
  7. Looks like there is some finishing work to be done on some of the parts before painting. Is this a surprise?

An eponymous thread title I would visit your local key cutter and have a emergency spare made, and try not to lose the one original you have. Are you covered by any sort of insurance for loss of the key?
  9. All the details are in the VIN. Country of manufacture, make, model, trim level, plant of manufacture, date of manufacture blah, blah, blah.
  10. I use injector cleaner a couple of times a year, whatever's on offer at Halfords usually. Millers, Wynnes and Redex are the usual suspects.
  11. I find that hard to believe on a supposed luxury car. My Alfa and Vectra had pollen filters and I'm going back 14 years with the Vectra.
  12. You buy the sensible family cars for the kids and their rubbish, they grow up, you buy the cars you wanted without having to consider kids and their tackle and then bloody grandkids come along. I have a one year old and five year old in the back of mine regularly and manage, I'm not going back to "Cars for the family" And I really don't think you need SUV's to accommodate a little rugrat.
  13. 'Twas also cigarettes, mon ami. http://www.retrowow.co.uk/retro_collectibles/smoking/players_no6.php
