  1. My Mrs is a member of a Subaru forum and a few guys there have used torque gt to import jdm stuff. We've not used them personally but their reviews are pretty good, the website has some good info.
  2. I would be concerned, when did you last check the oil?I check mine at least once a month, as for the hybrid issue this has no effect on oil consumption as the engine operates in the same way as a normal car would. The usual causes of major oil use are leaks or the engine is burning oil,you would see bluish smoke usually in this case.It is worth checking the oil level after a car service as they can sometimes underfill it.
  3. The fuel gauge is your only indicator and you will notice it says R not E at the end of its travel. This indicates you are running on reserve which as stated above is about 1.5 gallons, the distance left in miles is quite pessimistic i find,i have personally travelled another 65 miles when the display read zero. The american forum has an example of a CT owner who carried a can of petrol and managed over 100 miles on reserve.
  4. I have often wondered why Formula 1 teams don't fit Ford Transit engines into their cars they seem to be able to do 100 mph while fully loaded for 8 hours a day every day.
  5. I usually change cd's once a week for journeys to work but some old favourites are: 1.AC/DC-If you want blood 2.Rammstein-Mein Teil 3.Steely Dan-The Royal Scam 4.Y&T-Rescue Me 5.Budgie-Napoleon Bona Parts 1&2
  6. Agreed my Mrs runs a 17yr old Impreza, while the dash is hard, it still looks as good as new and any marks are easy to clean.
  7. Congrats i love this colour, was in Edinburgh last week and saw one of these ,may even have been your car.
  8. Not a huge change i would go Toyota, never had one but i like their new direction in designs.Experience of previous cars i would favour Suzuki and believe it or not Fiat.😲
  9. Try you tube for how to videos, as mentioned above all calipers are pretty similar if your exact model is not there. You will find the same parts are fitted to Toyota models like the Avensis/Auris.
  10. If it`s good enough for starfleet it`s good for me😉.Maybe not for everyone but i never take my cars too seriously. ps When in sport mode i`m getting more than warp 9.
  11. My mod took 5 minutes now i get to where i`m going in seconds. 🚀
  12. I find there is nearly 2 gallons left when my warning light comes on,i have once gritted my teeth and got 420 miles from a tank. However i guess it is a good thing to be warned early, and of course the gauge does say reserve rather than empty.
  13. Clickable links are beyond me but the seller is called vf_autozone.
  14. I have wind deflectors on mine they are made Heko and fit well held in place by metal clips in window channel. These are on ebay also for around the same price.
  15. Just noticed this question,as you have surmised this process is insanely difficult and would be difficult to explain without being present. It took me well over an hour to set the 6 presets. Briefly though you have to search for each station in manual mode and then switch to presets to store, the complication comes from the fact that each station is in frequency order and not alphabet name order unlike most DAB.This means once you have found, say bbc2 it will be grouped with some but not all other bbc stations, these groups are called ensembles and you have to search each one separately.I found the handbook of little use and resorted to button mashing . I previously had a Blaupunkt DAB which searched alphabetically had it tuned in 10 minutes.
  16. I got a space saver about a year ago for about £60,used it once already. You are correct about the storage box no longer fits under the deck cover, however i find you can arrange items around the spare wheel.
  17. I find the audio system ok with reasonable sound quality after adjusting the levels. However i previously had a Blaupunkt dab head unit which was superior.
  18. I have them on my CT,personally i like the look but opinions differ. They do reduce buffeting when the window is open and wind noise is not noticeably louder.Mine are made by Heko they slide into the window channel held by clips.
  19. The dab radio is unusually difficult to tune, while in manual mode you need to search through each ensemble in turn. Dab transmits stations in packets (ensembles)e.g the bbc stations will be grouped together ,commercial stations in other ensembles. This explains your poor choice of stations.I had a dab in a previous car which tuned just like a house radio finding stations automatically, the lexus radio is odd in this respect. The CVT issue as others have replied is not a conventional gearbox with set ratios,it theoretically has infinite ratios,it works best by moderate pressure on the accelerator. You will soon get used to the more relaxed style of the CT, it does not like to be hurried, however if you switch to sport mode this will sharpen the throttle response and the CVT will change quicker. Finally(at last)the engine runs on an Atkinson/Miller cycle, which involves altered valve timings and crank angles, this is more efficient than standard timing but at the expense of a reduced power band, the engine is at its most efficient in the middle or the rev range. Enjoy your new car though it gets easier.
  20. Just had first service at Lexus Edinburgh,30000 miles. No problems they used 0 20 oil as specified. Car valeted and they left a bottle of Lexus water in the cup holder,it tasted so much better than normal water.
  21. 8 months in my .. likes 1.comfy seats 2.dual zone a/c 3.cars looks dislikes 1.dab tuning insane 2. sat nav setting complicated 3.reserve indicator in fuel gauge, would prefer empty indication personally.
  22. This is a bit annoying, but if you press disp on the steering wheel your previous screen will return.
  23. None at all, just a small coat of dust, as would normally occur on the dash etc. On a few off shift days at the moment and sometimes perform maintenance tasks that are not included in a normal service plus i have a curiousity to know how things work.I have been known to dismantle tv`s hi fi`s cookers etc,my family just love this .Sometimes i even get them back together.
  24. Yes quite a fiddle removing various clips and bolts, not all are obvious,i managed to gain access without removing rear seats, took me just over an hour in total.
