  1. If the car is worth it, then missing a spare key isn't the end of the world. As you say, the vendor should be giving you some wiggle room on the price. Can't you recode a new key/fob via Techstream (£20)?
  2. Blimey, I'm amazed the dealer supplied you with the latest satnav DVD. Quite a result, well done Oh dear, the detailing bug is a slippery slope pal. Be carefull...
  3. For the record, Lexus can perform a Hybrid health check on it's own for approx £60. Oh and welcome to the forum. How are you finding your GS 450H? - fun eh
  4. My NSR roof trim that finishes at the boot lid keeps popping up Only the last 4-6" or so, it'll pop back in place but it won't stay put. I had a search and seen a few threads on the US forum, here's a sample pic from a 2nd Gen GS (mine's 3rd Gen)... Before I take a closer look at mine, has anyone removed their roof trim and know what clips are used/likely to be broken? Or have they managed to stick the trim back with something like 3M double sided tape/similar? Thanks in advance...
  5. That sounds like an epic job on the header. Thank gawd work wasn't needed on both sides! I doff my hat to the chaps that worked in that tight space.
  6. I bet. It must have been harder on your back than blending the rear spoiler - they both look great btw!
  7. Oh I see what you did there@bobmc, Robb's block paving is fancy [emoji41]
  8. A good find that, readable and interesting [emoji106]
  9. Excellent news, do you have pics to share with us?
  10. Ditto, it's such a shame when this happens. Gutted for you. We had a couple of fish suddenly appear on the patio one year and we still don't know why. They weren't Koi but it was still upsetting.
  11. Its good to hear that IS and SC owners rate the Meister coil overs, as it gives us alternatives from OEM. The double wishbone / multi-link suspension design on my GS rides/handles far better than MacPherson /beam on the Honda. Which is remarkable considering how big the GS is in comparison. I'll have to familiarise myself with the IS and SC suspension setups *update: SC uses double wishbones fr/re and IS/GS double wishbone front / multi-link rear..
  12. So glad that you didn't drop it too much, looks about spot on that I fitted those coil overs to my Honda and they were...firm, handling was fantastic tho. Robb has them on his IS and rates them, so maybe the spring/dampers are a better setup for Lexus. They're rebuildable and you get good customer service from the manufacturer, all of which bodes well.
  13. Paul / @Big Rat, black gold eh, good shout/stout
  14. My word, you've found a great looking car there. Well done and enjoy the burble.

Hi Vanessa, welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear that your IS is giving you trouble. Did either garage give you a print out of the diagnostics? Do you have a spare key that you can use to see if the 'main' key is indeed faulty?
  16. Maurice / @Mossbourne, you don't say what Beemer you currently own so I selected a random 1 series petrol from Honest John for comparison; 116i official 50.4–52.3 mpg real 38.4 mpg 300h official 61.4–67.3 mpg real 48.7 mpg The Lexus Hybrid is a neat bit of kit being self contained recharging on the move. Don't confuse a Lexus with a full on electric vehicle that mostly runs on electrickery. Have you test driven a IS 300h at all?

  18. Paul / @Texas, well done selecting that car, it looks great. Those BMC videos are great, I've been keeping an eye on them for a while now. I hope all goes well with the collection.
  19. TPMS valve service kits are much cheaper stateside; https://www.carid.com/2007-lexus-gs-tpms-sensors/
  20. Wow what a great transformation, well done The front/sides look much more purposeful, the kit isn't OTT and doesn't look out of place on the car at all. The zoorst looks fab and I bet it sounds nice and fruity too
  21. You haven't ruined the car at all but I understand what you're saying about folks that prefer to keep a car standard. Each to their own eh, it's your car and I think it looks fab. The strut brace looks smart, did you notice any difference to the steering/handling or ride? I guess the only drawback is that the engine cover now takes a bit longer to remove? #notabigeee
  22. GS vs IS can be likened to BMW's 5 vs 3 series. I find the GS is a bit of pain to park as its wide and oh so long. The GS doesn't feel so large when driving tho, even on country lanes. I wouldn't change it tho, nor would MrsF - she likes being pampered...
