  2. So my 2012 GS250 in Silver is showing serious age. The hood and front quarterpanels are in bad shape and I am thinking to wrap the car Not a fashion statement but rather an attempt to preserve the service life in a cost effective way Thoughts? advice? Thanks in advance
  3. I am with Aviva online and when I got my car last September there was no extra to pay going from a HONDA HRV (£240). So when my renewal was up in February and especially reading a lot on the forum how much people was getting quoted I thought it was going to go up substantially. Got my renewal and it was £340 in February, last month I got an email saying that my renewal was incorrect and I thought it was going to go up but it went down to £337.
  4. Thanks Colin, it was the lack of confirmation on the Thatcham website that bothered me, but as you say the insurers should know what is actually fitted. As you can see from this LINK under Toyota/Lexus cars, the LC is not listed which is what got me wondering..
  5. You’re still avoiding wondrous Salamanca then ? Malc

  7. Bring back Starting Handles ! Reduce the damnable electronicory on cars that drains ‘em Change the Law so’s fresh owners of cars have the same rights at law as the original owner / new battery purchaser That'll make ‘em produce better quality fit for purpose batteries ……. whoever the manufacturer 🤔 None of this is ever likely tho’ ….. is it ? Malc
  8. Thanks, appreciated ☺️ I heard the RX gets OTA updates, so I assume they do update things from time to time?
  9. Yup and these days 'Queens' are saying the same thing.😉
  10. I managed to code & initialise the replacement ECU and start the car - irritatingly code P3108 has returned, and there was no change to the screen etc, so I'm back on the original ECU for now whilst I have a think about where to go with this next😒
  11. Both! Had had Messi’s LS400 hovering in my brain though, but thought I’d go for a slightly (!) smaller car. Has a road-induced rattle I need to investigate, but otherwise, lovely. I expect to have to do bushes etc., but the overall condition is great. it WAS a bit of serendipity; I wondered if I’d find a Camry in UK, looked on Autotrader and …..got instantly in touch, staking my claim, so to speak .
  12. Plates are quite literally, a sticking plaster. No issue for a determined thief. They'll work it out soon enough.
  13. Stephen keep it There as a Warning i got hit With a £100 Fine and Three Penalty Points for being 7 mpg over the speed limit Sore.!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Probably wouldn't be your first choice, but is a conversion to a non-rear steer arrangement feasible, with a rack removal and replacement with tie rods? Mechanically likely to be easier than persuading the computer to let go of its amputated rack, I suspect
  15. When you say "it was at the same time I had audible alerts from the car for getting to close to left side of road", are you referring to the Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) system? If so, it might be an idea to (temporarily) turn that off completely and see if the AA disconnect problem goes away. For what it's worth - S24 Ultra owner here and no issues with AA.
  16. GS 2015 with 120k km. I have checked my propshaft coupling last night, now I wonder if those cracks may be the reason.
  17. Hi all In my rx450h 2010 I have my phone mounted by the front vents (specifically with an aliexpress special, that puts a small bracket over the hazard lights button). would be nice to get a charger cable to it without having it across the console. Through the AC vent would be best, but although I’ve managed to pop out most of the console, I just can’t get the bolts that hold the radio in, so can’t pass the cable behind it. anyone got any alternatives/better solutions? Cheers
  18. Had the same problem on my Rx. Waiting for a solution too.
  19. Hello everyone. I was hoping this would not be the case for the LBX, but as a more folk have received their new cars, I am already starting to see a few concerns starting to pop up across the world about the dreaded 12v battery issues. Seems like when it flat or has an issue there is a lot more that can and will go wrong on the LBX. Not sure if I can post a link to Facebook here but here is a thread https://www.facebook.com/groups/322071126890584/permalink/374171431680553/ Apologies if not and can remove. Not reassuring at all and while I realise it may be vehicle specific and due to many factor etc, this does not leave many with confidence. Despite all of this I have placed my order for the Top spec model but now getting nervous as I am sure going to land up in a similar place. Fingers crossed it won't.
  20. When I purchased a used yellow car - “these are very rare, we can’t give you any discount” When I sold it - “there isn’t much demand for this colour hence a lower trade in price compared to book value”
  21. I was fortunate and delighted that my RX was delivered in March with 2 keys!
  22. At the time of purchase, the F-Sport was quite an outlay for us because it was top of the range with most option boxes ticked. It's funny but 8 years on, I'm still quite precious about scratching it try to avoid supermarket car parks unless I can find a remote space. Our other car is covered in battle scars from utterly selfish, entitled people who have flung doors open on it and run shopping trollies into it. Some people don't care. I have one paintwork thumbnail sized mark on the Lexus, where someone keyed the driver door, and after using a the supplied paintwork touch up paint and lacquer, it's not that noticeable. We'll probably do the same. Keep it for another 5 years then it owes us nothing much. Means buying close to new will be out of our reach but by then, there'll possibly be something cheaper that'll be within means. You're dead right about the V6. It may not have the punch of the noisier IL4 + hybrid, but it's smoother and quieter. One of the best engines Toyota/Lexus ever made and seen in rugged and reliable vehicles worldwide from pick-ups to luxury SUVs. Owners ov V6 Camry's think the same

  24. I now appear to have this problem. Not sure where the (down)pipe goes but shall investigate. There seems to be a plastic sleeve that looks very insecure. I'm thinking maybe tape it as a temporary measure and limit use of a/c ...
