It's a classic design fault. The rad replacement was a 2 star easy job. However, I did find that quite a lot of the bolts were absolutely rust melded. Once out I lathered base with high temperature copper grease. Here's to us 20 year old Lexus owners keeping'em going.

You can set Google maps or apple maps to download a set map while your at home on WiFi, then when out and about it won't use any data. Not ideal but get you the functionality your after?

I think the economy drive mode switches off heating or aircon, but I may be wrong. When did they pull the update ? Your dealer was well behind others if they only fairly recently offered the update. Mine was updated mid Feb - it’s a May 23 car. Regards the new cars vs previously delivered cars update, last year new cars were being delivered from about Sept with the update but existing had to wait until about Feb - I think I was one of the first as the dealer sorted it as soon as it was available - maybe me dealing with the MD might have helped. I hope you get the update soon as it really is quite a different car range wise. Apologiesif you seen this before, but have you registered with Lexus Reserve yet ? They do seem to be getting that right, I’ve got a RX450h for 10 days in August to go to Jersey in (there is only 2 Ultra fast chargers on the entire island). I've gone is200 to is250 to is300h and now es200h. I've found it to be the smoothest of them all. Depends what you want, a sporty spirited feel or elegantly transporting you with little stress?

Yes, the Ohme app has changed so if you have "smart charging" enabled it will charge at any time at the lowest rate.

I think increasing repair costs and personal injury claims are also a factor in overall price increases.

Dear Ollie (and all) - I bought my RX400H last year with the battery and relay repair already done in Lexus Poole with a vague mention of "modifications done". As the new owner I called them to dig into what that may mean and if ingress had been spotted and dealt with. They fobbed me off with "oh nothing really just tidying up" which seemed, frankly, a bit evasive and very poor considering the size of the bill! Not paid by me luckily. Not long after purchase I saw water coming in during a downpour - at the rear of the roof corners, not from the hatch but further in. Looked to me like the roof itself/the roofrails were the issue. Research led me to a few videos that had similar leaking from the roof so I removed the roof rails and roof trim pieces and re-sealed all the seams and also the bolt holes with sealant. For good measure I did all the panel gaps and hinges etc down the back of the car and just spent one of the wettest winters in Wales with no issues (crossed fingers). I'm sure there are write-ups on here and elsewhere to show the way, it's not a huge job and the worst of it was getting the roofrail covers to ping off without snapping the tabs (only partially successful).

Hi, My 2017 IS300h inner tie rod adjustment nut has virtually seized solid and is making accurate tracking nearly impossible. My local mechanic contacted Lexus regarding getting the part and they have said it's an entire steering rack replacement for €1300 + VAT and fitting. That's utter madness considering I can see spurious parts for sale online. Does anyone know the thread diameter and pitch of the inner tie rod? We are thinking of taking It off and cleaning the threads with a tap and die nut once we have the right size. Thanks.

I am afraid not dear boy. But Harrods and Selfridges are having a price war over them. Buy two, get a scullery maid free was the best offer I have seen so far. That's the deal I went for. The urchins sub for each other when one falls ill with cholera or whatever and the maid cleans up after them and cooks their meager meals. All works out wonderfully for ME! I don't have to see them, hear them (except for the ready call, of course) and they are self sufficient, as the scullery girl has such delicate light fingers, she can half inch a whole roast chicken off a rotisserie in broad daylight without anyone seeing a thing.

All this really is BS. Such a poor show from such a supposedly prestigious brand. In my opinion they really have dented their reputation with behaving just like all the others. Lexus used to be a cut above, shame really.
