I highly recommend Denso Hybrid wiper blades

wax varies dependant on person so hard to put a best on that, I'm finding a £150 pot of wax best at the moment, but others may find a £15 liquid wax good.

and for reverse, interior and sidelights, I highly recommend anything with cree diodes on. whitest LED and high power.

brake fluid I have some Shell dot 4 brake and clutch fluid ESL ready to go in, it has the right additives for our cars

brake pads on mine are Brembo  o.e. replacements with MTEC dimpled and grooved discs, very good setup now my calipers are unseized.

Tyres on mine are a mix of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 K120 (225/45/17) and Kumho Ecsta Le Sport KU39 (245/45/17), both very capable tyres and highly recommended.

and engine oil is Shell Helix ultra 5w30, its recommended to go with emission compatible oils also

2010 model on 18" rims

Tyres ... On the front rims I have Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance ... very pleased with them (and no tramlining)

On the rear rims I have  Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 .....again very pleased. Think they have been superseded by Asymetric 3 now though.

Both sets have done just over 34,000 mls and still good tread left.

Thoroughly recommend the DENSO wiper blades ... they are oem.

HID bulbs ... very pleased with Osram Xenarc Cool Blue Intense D4S bulbs

Engine Oil ... currently using Castro Magnatec 5w30

Sidelight .... Metal bodied Cree type LED from Ebay

s-l500.jpg

Interior ... 5 SMD type from Ebay

s-l225.jpg

Boot and Rear Seat Dome .... Festoon SMD type from eBay.

s-l500.jpg

Puddle light ... 5 SMD led's from eBay ... 23-25mm length max.

s-l225.jpg

Reversing light .... 50w LED Cree bulbs from eBay

25f1913c-03f8-49cd-82e1-c6f53e7f1093_zps

Fuel Additives ... I use Archoil AR6200 every so often at 1ml per 10ltrs of fuel. About every 10,000 mls i put a can BG44K in the fuel tank as a fuel system cleaner.

Air/ Fuel and O2 Sensors ... just got some DENSO items via Rockauto in the USA. Also got a PCV valve. Will advise soon

In the interests of filling in any blanks:-

Had a check back on the Rockauto website and O2 sensors are

Bank 1 Sensor 2 & Bank 2 Sensor 2

For 2006 -13 vehicles ... Denso  234 4521 . These are the shielded type and require lifting the carpet to expose the floor grommet and wiring/connector 234-4521_SID.jpg

Cabin Filter

Obtainable from many sources eBay, Eurocarparts etc. Can be as little as £6. Make sure you take note of the fitting instructions on the forum ... you must set the a/c selector to 'recirculate' so the filter cover lid is raised and the filter visible.

thanks Chris - added to the list - do you have any pictures or locations as to where these are fitted?

Stock images from Google but the same. One each side.

Handy to know (under the carpet material under the parcel shelf area?) - how does your boot close now? Do you need to push it all the way down or does it close without pressure half way from closing?

One to add to the list Newbie. Don't think there are any batteries shown thus far.

Battery

For IS 250         There are quite a few to choose from, in my experience this is a good one.

Bosch S4 026 068  (comes with a 4 year guarantee)

         Image result for bosch 0426 068         Positive Front Right         Length 261 x Height 220 x Depth 175

Whichever you get, insist on a type 068. A lot of places will default you into a type 069 .... DO NOT GET THIS ... the contact posts will be at the front of the Battery. The wiring loom is severely over-stretched ed to attach.

Just to add - normal price for this Battery is £75-85... don't go to places like eurocarparts and buy it for £120-150. I paid £71.98 for mine with delivery. Otherwise - definitely recommended.

Here's another for the list Shaun

Oil Filter Removal tool

You'll need one of these to remove the oil filter. Made by the likes of Sealey/ Draper etc and found on amazon and eBay.

A 600mm breaker bar may come in handy too they are often over tightened. They can be undone using the square drive port on the tool but it's better to use a socket if you have one to hand. There is a danger of splitting the square drive port with excessive force.

The sump plug washer should be a fibre type with an aluminium core.

Thanks for this post. Very useful.

I did a few upgrades to my IS 250 as well.

Dipped Beam - OSRAM Intense Xenarc Cool Blue D4S Xenon HID 5500K for £30 ( Half the price of Osram Xenarc Cool Blue Intense D4S which is about £80 )

Side lights - OSRAM Cool Blue Intense T10 4000K for £6

Main Beam (High beam) - Found an OSRAM Cool Blue Boost HB3 5000K ( But these are not road legal and are only for off road use ) So i got the OSRAM Cool Blue Intense 42000K

Engine oil - Castrol Magnatec 5W 30 A5 4 Litres - £22.75 ( Sale on ASDA - Halfords charge £35 for them.)

Hi All

Can anyone please give me the part number or where I can buy the front brake shim as I have a rattle coming from the front end and wanted to start with this purchase before I move to other areas of concern.

I have the rattle at slow speed and when going over humps etc (clonking) however when I press the brakes its seems to reduce or even silent.

Thank you
