All the best Piers, hope it goes well mate.

I did a poo test recently and it came back positive for blood in the stool, so on Thursday I've got a telephone consult with someone and then a colonoscopy to look forward to

I hope all goes well for you, Herbie.

My top tip for a Colonoscopy is to ask for every type of pain relief known to man. I was given Fentanyl, which certainly helped.

Thanks Piers, I will certainly ask for as much pain relief as I can have

And if my last experience is still available to you Herbie, you can watch it all progressing on TV right next to your left shoulder👍🤣

Fingers crossed for you Herbie!  And, importantly - PLEASE don't worry..just remind yourself that it is much, much better to be checked out, and IF there's a problem it can be dealt with promptly, rather than not be checked and not know!

I've had a couple of colonoscopies in the last four years, and both were negative (hooray!). However, unlike Piers' unfortunate experience, I didn't have any sedative or painkillers prescribed, and really didn't need them - so it's not a definite that there's pain involved.

(And, clearly I was born a geek, but I found it fascinating to watch the process on the operating theatre's TV screens and chat through the event with the lass controlling the camera. (I've seen 'poo' in a new light!  💩😂)

Think of me, tomorrow, 'B Day'. [ Thinking of me is optional. ]

I liken it to sitting on a hedgehog. My Consultant says I'll be walking like John Wayne afterwards.

Hey ho.

I will be thinking of you!   (I'll put a roll of Andrex in the 'fridge in your honour!)

I fully intend to John. I was going to ask for my triple heart bypass to be recorded but didn't bother after my mate pointed out that I'd be on the table for six hours and they'd be talking about what they were having for tea, or even the surgeon saying something like, "Ooh, look at this stringy bit. That shouldn't be there

Well... I had my Biopsy on Tuesday.

General anaesthetic was definitely best for me.

Everyone was brilliant.

Now it's tiredness, general discomfort in the basement area, slow 'walking', doing not much, some blood... when passing, which I believe is normal.

Painkillers and their various side effects...

I'm glad the weather's mild.

Glad it's over and done with Piers and I hope the biopsy is clear. Take care and as Malc says, just chill and rest.

Well... I received my Prostate Biopsy results yesterday.

All benign I am pleased and relieved to say. ( Just occasional blood tests now... )

Apparently, ( remembering I was under general anaesthetic, fortunately! ) I had 33 biopsies taken.

Now there's just general pain and general unpleasantness in the basement area.

It will pass ( no pun intended? ).

Fantastic news Piers, excellent.

I have been in and out of hospital all year, I have now been given a diagnoses of cancer on the lining of my left lung.

So sorry to read that Mike. I hope that it is controllable and enables you to enjoy a reasonable quality of life.

Mike, I’m sorry to hear that.
Cancer is a very personal journey.
Not easy, obviously, but what’s out there to help is so much better than it was.
I had Appendix Cancer about 12 years ago. Not easy, at times really, really tough. Tears, ups, downs and…  platitudes not welcome.
We wish you well and I’m sure that support and understanding of something so difficult is here; it certainly is from me.
