I Got My Lex!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

Finally got my Lexus! Ended up getting a 2000 Royal Sapphire IS200 S Auto (gotta love that cruise control!). It has the Styling pack with large, raised spoiler (not the lip spoiler) on the back, 18's and Full Leather! I have to say, I'm totally over the moon with it and can't stop making any excuse to the missus to go and drive somewhere or even go and 'get something from the car' just to admire it!!!

Only one problem so far, the offside front fog didnt work and Lexus couldn't replace the bulb as it had seized in the lamp unit, so I have to wait til next week till I can get a new unit.

Only Pic I've got so far...

The service manager from Toyota did say it was a common problem on the IS series, mumbling something about compromises on modern cars, but I did wonder whether the common problem was his unwillingness to have a decent go at undoing the bulb in the workshop!!! (I only had the pliers from the boot to try and lever it off  )

The thing I'm worried about now is the nearside foglight which I reckon would be a lot more crudded than the offside one... I'll probably get Lexus to change the bulb when that one goes tho.. :whistling::shifty: and anyway I never want to undo another of those units in my life! (how hard are those two retaining nuts to get off??? :tsktsk: )

the easiest way to replace the fog bulbs is not from the front, its from behind, remove a couple of fixings so that you can pull back the plastic wheel arch that is in front of your wheels, bit fiddly but works.then clip them back in place behind the bumper again. :)
