mike are you going to consider a high stall torque converter....?

will help getting the power down.

sounds like a great plan, hope all goes well

Not sure Mat, it's in the "others" section at the moment depending upon the gearbox we go for. Will see what extras we need to do once the block is stripped, see what she can handle etc.

Very nice indeed Mike i'll be following very carefully as ive been lookin at the turbo conversion for the is300 over in the states and am very very tempted. would love to come up and see some of testing when its being done. Is it all being shipped from the states

Bear in mind that the US spec turbo manifolds will not fit a RHD car - there is an obstruction caused by the steering column. The Toyomoto kit retains the same manifold and there are no will-it-fit issues.

Oh and Yes, all the parts are coming from the States.

ellz,,, think you may be interested in what prolex are doing for my project,, as they have a turbo manifold for the RHD, that i should be test fitting in the next week...

you should think about what route you wunna take,, s/c or t/c.

And I thought you were gonna keep it secret until you whooped a few supra's at the pod next year :winky:

I've got a vision now of Mike coming through customs - "anything to declare sir?" -

"No not at all" LOL

My IS sucks now :crybaby:

this all sounds realy interesting couple of questions what sort of power can these auto box take

i know the s/c looks nice under the IS bonnet and gives instant power the setup you are looking at sounds awesome if you get 400bhp

BUT the turbo route especialy if you are doing the internals so much more options my opininion only a lot of the guys on here who have gone the s/c route have loved it but then wish they had t/c just more options to get the power out off the engine

but both these projects yours and pauls sound awesome good luck to both of you and pod next year should be interesting

Apparently the IS300 box/diff set-up is good for 450(ish)bhp.

In my opinion - whatever power you have you always want more.

Friend of mine had a Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo running 450bhp at the rear wheels. After 6 months he got used to the power, was bored of it and got rid.

Good luck to Mike and Paul - but if I know Mike as well as I think I do it wont be long before he he wants more  And I think I know what he'll do next too :winky:

Following on from Mark's comment:

Thr autotranny will require a modification to the valve body (not a big job) plus the addition of a tranny fluid cooler (again not a big job) and will be good for over 400rwhp.

The auto is actually easier to upgrade than the manual! :D

I thought something like this would come up and be a pain in the *****. Surely someone like prolex or other company would be able to make a manifold to fit a RHD???? what kinda kit is prolex making for you. If you cant post it could u pm me plz. im definatly going for the turbo gonna be looking for around 500-600bhp. but want a manual as well so the supra 6 speed im gathering. i need to look into a little more but im definatly gonna be doing it.

I look forward to seeing yours and mikes set ups and if im lucky enough to be given a drive to feel that power.

Mike did you approach turboeast? The reason I am asking they deal mainly with IS300 upgrades, you can check thier website http://www.turboeast.com/

and they were featured in US program called tuner transformation and they modified IS300

This link contains vids of IS300 with Toyomoto supercharger kit, the limits are endless

Hope the links work

Excellent project, can't wait to see the outcome :)

Yes, we looked at options from all the reputable US turbo tuners but the same problem exists with all of them - the incompatibility of the manifold.

Prolex are looking at an adaptation of the Supra manifold for Paul's car....thereafter I imagine a dedicated manifold will be the next option.

OK.

Got the parts:

Toyomoto Supercharger kit (Rotrex compressor, intercooler, pipework, oil cooler, BOV, injectors etc)

2JZ-GTE pistons & rods

Greddy Emanage Ultimate

Power Enterprise Camcon

Greddy Catch tank

Missing:

The valve body upgrade for the Auto Tranny. The supplier won't ship outside the USA so I collect the kit when I'm over in Houston early February.

Then we hit the fission ignition! :winky:
