Well on the way home from work last night i thought i would pop into my local spar shop to pick up my euro millions ticket for tonight, went in paid no probs.

Came out and went to get back in the car. I press the unlock on my key as im walking out, go the open the door and its still locked. I press it again, try to open the door and its still locked. I press it again, and i try to unlock it again and i can hear the cluck of the lock mechanism there working but it wont let me in,

Im thinking great its broken. I put the key in ad try and turn it but it wont turn, by this time im starting to panic!

i press the unlock button again and start pulling the door handle but it wont open, alarm sets off, embarassment and panic start to set in further. Man comes running out of the shop and shots what are you doing to my car................... :duh:

i reply... i cant get in! he shouts thats my car idiot. that yours! *points to identical silver is200 sport* parked next to it.

I hang my head in shame, apologise and we have a good old laugh about it!

Time for some mods so you can tell its yours :D

A colleague said he did the same. My car didn't unlock for him but behind him his had boot open, lights flashing... That was before I changed wheels, added tints etc

Just think - if it was back in the days on the MK2 Escorts, you could have got in his car and drove off with the same keys as yours !!

Tell me about that !

Slightly off topic - I got in a mates RS1600 SPORT and took off TWO HT leads, offered him a race without him knowing. He still left me like I was parked. This started a month or two of moving or altering each others cars. Rhumour had it Ford only made ten keys - and when worn "one fits all".

Back to the Lex saga - That is funny - but something I would have expected more from the missus :D

I bet you felt a right tool. Were there many people about?

Yep the IS is becoming common as its more affordable so scrotes and scumbags are beginning to drive round in them. Shame really.

Time to change in 6mnths...
