Nissan Cube

Recommended Posts

Is there an uglier car than the cube? Yes, the S-Cargo!

(No offense, but they are both discusting, in my opinion.)

The chip shop down the end of my road has a cube for delivering in.

Just looks odd! Though suposed to be a good, practical family car. Plus, it's a Nissan.

Yeah, yeah! I know! But quirky isn't for everyone! S-Cargo? I've had it for 5/6 years now, and it still gets grins and kids waving. If I had a Euro for ever time someone asked me about it.......I stuck a "description" piece in the side window (Porthole!) to save me having to xplain over and over!

But I just thought I might get a more modern version! Its getting to the stage where it needs someone to love and cherish it, but it still sailed through the MOT and has only done 48K miles! Yes, its for sale soon, for about £3.5K......pics on request!

Thanks for the input. Keep it coming (even the :crybaby: ones!!) We're all different (and I seem to have been different all my life!!)

Am thinking of selling my Nissan S-Cargo and possibly getting a 'CUBE'. Anyone had any experience of owning/driving one?

Yes me as driven quite a few from Southampton to Swansea Nissan specialist and imports garages near me from the auctions. I like them.

I've seen many and I would only go for three colours silver, burnt orange and black.

Got to say they do look different and are cheap to run and to get parts as a lot of the parts are used on other Nissans, But just got find out which parts are for which cars.

My Fav one has got to be one in Black with silver alloys and black tinted windows with a fitted bodykit. Got to say it was lovely looking cube.

Funny thing is all the ones we've had were all some to girls as they seem to love them around here as they have loads of hidden storgae and have an Ipod input for the stereo so quite a fav of young girls.

There is anopther option to which is along the lines and that car is the Honda Sm-x 2.0 lowdown. They are half the price as the cube, But not quite as nice inside but as just realiable. I might know of one for sale for £2,999 trade price in silver(wink).

If they sold them officially in the UK I would snap one up tomorrow and use it as my driving school car. The engine in the petrol one looks exactly the same as what is in my current 1.2 Nissan Micra automatic. It goes well enough and the auto gearbox is really very smooth for a small unit even though it sometimes makes itself felt with the most violent down changes when using kickdown. I do like the cube alot.

Engines are 1.4 to 2005 then 1.5 after.

You're all wrong (apart from jsj24uk, bazgtr, spikes and stav) and totally missing the point! They're fantastic cars - they look geeky in a cutesy and funky way - girls love them and love guys that drive them. They're not meant to drive in complete obscurity on the road, they're meant to be noticed!

As I said earlier, the features of the cube are good.It would not be my car of choice for my type of usage but each to their own. Everyone is not wrong except in your opinion, but just have different perspectives on the appeal of this and every other car on the road. Wouldn't life be boring if we all had the same opinions on things.

Well, sacrilege as it is, I've been wondering whether to sell the Ls400 Ser 4 and economise a bit, now I've retired and money is limited! (And recession and price rises.....!). I only use the Lex for long journeys, so day to day use is the S-Cargo (or a Micra!! Albeit with Flip-flop paint!) Of course, I love the LS, every time I drive it! But it IS a luxury...... The Cube seemed to fulfill my (need?) to be different, but also nippy in town, and passable on motorways. Other choices? Multipla (original one) or Berlingo Multispace with modutop/aircon?

Look like another topic arises here? :whistling:

P.S. Would only sell LS for £6.5K.......

wooot im not alone anymore

my mates take the *****, but i really like them! im trying to convince my miss to get one, but she doesnt like the looks :(

first time i saw one i was in hong kong... i couldnt take my eyes off it and there was a skyline gtr nearby which i hardly noticed.... then i saw a scion BB(toyota bb) and thought ooooh! those two are my favourite little cars...

if i had the choice it would be the cube! :) the chocolate interior is lush... hmmmm making my mouth water

get the one with cvt manual button gear changes. me want me want!

then get the turbo kit :innocent:

(voice of Homer Simpson) "Hmm! Turbo kit, hey?"

Sounds VERY interesting! As the one thing that was a bit disappointing was the 1386 cc engine, even though it'll be fine for town.

add it to a custom interior.....

There's a white one on eBay with OTT sound system right now; but putting two amps in passenger footwells? Plus bass box in boot? Not my scene.

And.....SHAKE! Stop it! You'll hurt yourself!

Isn't it funny how such a square thing can be interesting to us car fans??

lovin that pickup or is it a 1/2cube :)

Well, if you look, the back door handle is still there....is it an open backed car with seats in open bit??!! Whole new concept!

I think it might be a 'Cube Root'? If my maths is.......well, I got 'O' level!
