Got the LS back today. After a week without her. Just had the exhaust, washers and service done etc. Most will know what is coming next. Wonderful ride, drives like a dream. Best I have ever known. Went for a 100 mile drive just for the hell of it. Even the wife is now converted which I thought would never happen. What is it with these cars that tug your heart strings like this? people say why have you got 2 cars. I say, why have you got a car and a motorbike. One for pleasure, one for commuting or whatever. What's the differance, I say. They never have an answer.

Always good to get the car back and go for a good drive to nowhere.

Here's what i'm doing then for pleasure, must be on sensory overload, got a Ls430, 1300cc motorthugcycle, 1000cc adventure motorcycle and a fiat grande punto (the wife's car), never see me in it, got pink and black seat covers with pink shoulder belt protectors, she thinks it's cool though so that's ok by me.

So good you got wife to enjoy the Lex as you do :shifty:

Good to know I am not the only one to think its ok to have more then one mode of transport. Love bikes myself, but also love the comfort of an LS.

We've got 3 cars between us, the LS is always the one we choose to go anywhere in (unless parking is tight, then it's the Corsa) My wife always calls it "The Flashmobile" (obviously not the Corsa!)

And I don't know what it is about them that gives you pleasure everytime you go anywhere because I've had all sorts of cars and none have been quite the same, In fact some have only given pleasure when I park them and get out!

I have owned many cars. Lost money on all of them, but enjoyed most. Always wanted an LS. So when one came along that I liked, which took a while, grabbed it. Since its been serviced, was really surprised to see the difference compared to other cars I have owned in the past. Shows how well built they are built. If you go a long time without driving the LS, I find I can appreciate what I have got. But true, Some are better left parked up.

I think I'm just greedy A ls430 2004 a 98 ls400, 2 cbr600s (his & hers) sold my zzr1200 in the summer ( my license was in danger)

& wait for it, A mint totally standard vfr400nc30 in the front room just too look at ( fits perfect in the bay window) & is a work of art.

I'm extra greedy as well... Gs450h 08 LS400 98 .....Frontera for snow and voyager for transporting troops (kids)... I'm the only driver of first 2 lol... Was told to sell the LS when I picked up the GS ...till I took her for a run in it and said " do you really want me to sell" answer was no keep it lol woohoo

ZZR1200, (Kawasaki) VFR400NC30 (Honda) them's motorbikes them is :phone:

My missus had NC30 & I had a 750 ZZRR Suzuki & Pan European, all 3 now sold. Still have 650cc shaft driven Honda Deauville stored in the garage where its been for 13 years with 2500 miles on the clock :msn-cry:

I'm lucky as I currently have LS430, RX300, Audi A3(for work) and my wife a little Hyundai I10. I bought the Rx when I had a particularly bad spell of back and knee pain and needed something higher to get in and out of. Just after this the pain eased with different treatment and somehow I just never got round to selling the LS despite being reminded that "you can't drive 2 at the same time".

The Hyundai is actually fun to drive as its so small and nippy in traffic, It also has heated seats which keeps the wife happy. The Audi is Ok but I really can't understand why the Press rates them so highly.

The RX is very good and it is nice to sit that bit higher up and it may well be very practical this weekend if the snow arrives. HOWEVER, there is nothing like getting back into the LS which is the best car I have ever owned. The overall package of performance and comfort along with all the goodies is unbeatable, though the Mk 4 400 I owned was a very close second.

I gave up on motorbikes when it was pointed out that my expanding waist didn't suit the biker image any more--unkind but true.

Can't say I am a motorcycle fan but I do have a softspot for a 70's classic and currently have a 1970 MGB Roadster tucked away in my garage which has a Rover V8 motor. Better power to weight ratio than a Porsche and a real hoot to drive but only in the dry.

In addition to the LS400 (perfect on long journeys, thirsty and a nightmare to park in town) I have a smart cabrio (the complete reverse). Both cars are brilliant at what they do, but they do quite different things. I know it's two lots of insurance and tax but I split my mileage between them, so neither has clocked up a lot of miles. It may seem like an extravagance to run two cars, but in some ways it makes more sense than running one boring mid-range-mobile that's worth about the same money (£4000 combined). And even if it doesn't, whenever I do a long journey in the Lexus I think, 'Who cares? I love this car.'

I had to sell my fireblade as the tank must have grown & I couldn't get hold of the bars anymore.

At the moment (including the Honda Motorbike) I have 2 GS300's 97 & 2000 + 2 LS400's 1998 & 1999. 1 Hyundia GS30 v6 2001 AND a Fiat Punto which we bought new in 2002 (Its a great little car and a pleasure to drive) & finally we also have a 2012 BMW 120D Convertible :driving:

We have a Ford Escort estate LPG of course for the wife so we are just a two car family which round these parts puts us in the poor category, I did used to have a Reliant Scimitar which was on a C plate one of the last to be registered before it went bust with just 40K on the clock when I had to sell her as I was having real difficulty getting in but even worse trying to get out. She was a fantastic car and I only bought her as a friend of mine had one when I was in my 20s and I always promised myself that one day I would have one. My other passion is guitars and I have around 100 or so. Mike

I went to see a job last week and the customer had a Jensen Healy in the garage which apparently hasn't seen the road for many years.

Nice to have another keen musician on here! I used to work as a musician (keyboards and percussion) and, having taught music in school, now teach about music education in a university. Also run a company that sells music tech if you ever need anything!

I went to see a job last week and the customer had a Jensen Healy in the garage which apparently hasn't seen the road for many years.

I have plenty of Strats but none from the 60s the earliest one I have is a 74 in Candy apple Red which I have completely customised and was my main working guitar together with a customised Telecaster from the late 70s a Hofner Lap slide which sounds better the more punishment I give it that comes from the 30s. I also use an Epiphone Sheraton from the late 70s which is set up for slide and I have set that up with strings 64 to 22 mighty big strings for a mighty big sound. Sadly because of the body complaining I am not able to gig like I used to but still do some studio work and the odd private function. Mike
