As YOUs know my LS600hl's heated drivers seat wasn't working and was replaced under warranty and I recieved car back yesterday afternoon......

WELL GUESS WHAT..... It still isn't working right... Heats up 1st 5mins then blows flipping cold air at my butt.... Looks like I'll be without my car AGAIN shortly....

Disappointed and hacked off is a understatement 😣😞😒

Frustrating I know but it happens, I repair electronic stuff and there has been occasions when I have repaired something then ran it for a few minutes to check all is OK,returned it only to have it back the next day with another problem which only happens after say 30 minutes.

Just make sure the tank is empty this time when you get there :)

They can come and recover it again at there expense and give me a proper replacement car instead of a tractor aka shogun....

My Mrs is so staying out of ear shot as I'm ranting about changing marquee of cars now (won't happen but just me being unhappy and spouting off)

Oh and they can replace the engine cover clips they've lost as well...

Maybe just as well Lexus techs aren't in today and was just a young girl who answered phone at Lexus as I was ready to lose the plot... So hopefully calmed down by tomorrow morning when I phone them up again

Looking at seat the new leather also looks ruffled rather than tight n smooth.... Am sorry guys but IMO lexus have fukt up here.....

I explained that seat intially heated up then went cool and blew cold air at me after 5-10 mins so they replaced bottom half of seat leather and element .... Took car for a spin today and 5mins later goes cool and blows cold air at me for the next 30mins of my drive... Mrs is sat smerking at me with her heated seat working perfectly all thru the journey..(hate her ).. Parked car up went shopping then return journey home same again ie 5mins seat warms up then goes cold with cold air blowing onto my butt

2CV?

I recall sticking a Paraffin heater in my Dyane overnight when it snowed.

there was one car completely snow-free in the whole street!

Heated seats!! We're such softies in 21 century! What's wrong with a bit of carpet on seat?

Or even.....Sheepskin?

Doesn't fill me with confidence when it comes to trading up to an LS 460/600 in years to come. I'll keep my 400 going for as long as possible I think. Heated seats still working after 15 years. Apart from wear and tear, very little has gone wrong in that time.

Did it have new leather? They don't normally do that, the original cover will get refitted.

I know my local dealer uses an upholstery specialist to remove/install the leather covers to may sure that are correctly installed wrinkle free rather than let one of their mechanics have a go.

Can't comment on the benefits of heated seats in mine, they were never fitted being a JDM model. Most had cloth seats so no burn't bums in the summer and no frozen ones in the winter.

Even the range topping C-F model only has heated rear seats.

Re Lexus, it would seem that they failed to listen to the whole story regarding the operation of the seats and didn't try it for the period of time they should, probably turn out to be some sensor after they replaced the whole base. Good job it is under warranty wouldn't like to have paid for that job and then be told there is further expense involved.

Apparently since replacement the office stapler has been missing :(

On the LS600 and more than likely the 460 the heated seat element is not separate from leather it's been made as a one piece (hence the price tag of £1350+vat).... So I recieved a complete new base (except plastic surround) hence the new leather etc... My orginal leather was nice a tight (no sign of wear either it still looked new (09 with only 28k on clock)

Seat now looks more used now with leather being crumbled not at all happy

Up till today I could of been a lexus salesman with my liking of the brand ..but as of today if some asked me I'd tell them to look elsewhere that's how disappointed and peeved off I am... They had my car for 10days to put a new Battery in and replace seat and do the 3hr recall work on it....ok yes I realise they had to order the parts 2-3days but to replace seat and not test it out after intial problem which is exactly the same as now ... I'm stunned and disappointed..... I can see this being my last lexus....

Did the online chat thingy with "Catherine from lexus UK" lol and looks like I'm not covered for lexus to recover vehicle the 4.5hrs drive down to dealership... But could send some up to drive it down and back up once sorted ..... YEAH RIGHT like I'm going to let that happen.... No-one drives my car.... Last time i let a garage do something like this I found out from a friend that had seen my car in at the local McDonald's with a mechanic ordering a Big Mac

So basically I need to use my fuel and my time to drive down and drop car off then if I don't get a courtesy of them I'm either hiring a car to get back up road or slumming it on public transport (that'll never happen either)

I don't like to be out of pocket for a mistake that should / could of been sorted when it was down there .....

I know I'm ranting again

But best give dealership the chance to redeem themselves and bit unfair to them at moment as haven't spoke to mechs/techs there yet as its Sunday....

My alarm set so I'm up n on phone 1st thing in morning .....

Will just cool down for now.... And hopefully phone all nice and calm in morning... They may bend over backwards to sort this out with no cost to myself or unneeded mileage placed on my car by being driven up n down to them.... I bought a low mileager for a reason... So I can still sell it on as a low mileage minted prestine top of range car once I've had my pleasure with it.... Well had it now so need this sorted so I can pass it on to someone else.... I'm giving up and going to get a soap box and pram wheels and make my self a go kart WITH HEATED SEAT 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thanks Colin.... I'll be mentioning this in morning....

Hopefully everything resolved soon

Unfortunatly I also still have the shogun and do not want to be left with this again for another few days.... Then again I got this due to intial breakdown thru Lexus assist and as my car is no longer classed as a breakdown hoping they will take it away and possibly Lexus garage will give me a courtesy car seeing as problem hasn't been resolved and am inconvenienced due to misdiagnoses by thier techs or a faulty new part ?????
