  2. Well after a lot of emailing to a Lexus dealer I have put down a deposit (subject to viewing) on a 2011 SE-L in Ultra Blue with black leather. They made me a video and sent lots of photos. I think I've got a good deal and will be making the 2.5 hour trip to Stoke on Thursday. I'll be checking it over thoroughly and test driving it before coming home. I'm looking forward to it :)

  3. Ah sorry I must have seen that on the other thread currently going on about getting a CT. Sport is pretty nice. There was an advance + for a bit but they seemed to drop it and the sport and sport + arrived. I guess they wanted not to have too many levels and the mid range is probably the most popular. Have you considered going the second hand route? You can make a serious saving buying a year or two old model and you can extend the warranty up to 5 years for extra piece if mind, although they are just about the most reliable car you can get. Depreciation in the first year must be 25%.

  4. There is plenty in the archives on LPG and Lexus. Does it have to have a health check every year? Not necessarily but it normally ties up with their warranty. Do you run on gas all the time or does it run in conjunction with petrol? Car starts on petrol and then switches to gas automatically when a certain temp has been reached. How much is the gas per litre and how many mpgs does it do? I am paying g 47p per litre.

  5. Had mine serviced today. Brake pads 8mm. What are they new, 12mm? I only have 14K on the clock so didn't expect much wear but i am enjoying learning a new relaxed style of driving with the Lexus.

  6. Most likely a plastic bag getting stuck to something hot and smelling really bad. We used to do this as pranks back in the day, albeit, we used to stick kippers and plastic bags under out friend's exhaust box after he'd parked up straight after a drive. The exhaust was still hot so it'd stick. Then when he'd drive it stunk like mad!

  7. I had the same, 1 caliper seized, but still passed the MOT. I think it is because so little braking force is generated that it is hard to tell. Luckily for me, my warranty covered the replacement. Anyway, yep, it is as easy as any normal caliper. In fact, the manual guide is pretty straightforward:

  9. Cut a hole in the floor as shown below, for the sports model buy a decent pair of trainers.

  11. What happens when braking under 50 MPH? As above I would be looking at discs 1st but also sticking/seized callipers could have the same effect.

  12. Well I'm no mechanic so take from this what you will, but many moons ago when I used to enjoy working on my cars, warped or worn discs would always be the first thing I thought of if I ever experienced any brake judder, so in the absence of any more knowledgable replies I'd say yes, you're right.

  13. Looks great, same colour as mine, but mine has the standard (non DHP) wheels. I use Autoglym Super Resin polish; once dry, easiest and shiniest to use ever. Unlike most polishes, it goes on really well in bright sunlight on warm paintwork. Fantastic stuff.

  14. Dealer phoned yesterday and confirmed that the claim has been accepted. car will be going in on 30/09. Lexus deliver again! Trying to secure a RC as a loan car as it is the only Lexus I have not yet driven apart from the LS...
