  1. Picked this up today 😀It's been a long day but loved the 4hr drive home! The ISF has gone to a good home and was sold privately last night.

  3. Today whlist travel the M62 to leeds as I do fortnightly my car put one helluva smile on my face. I floored it from a steady 70 and by feck it shot forward. I've learned that the RX doesn't handle as well as my previous IS but that's to be expected. Thanks to Rayaans and Rich I've finally got my car registration on the My Lexus app. V5 came yesterday. The service record shows that my car had a Lexus service are 3k miles in 2013 then it''s next Lexus service was Four Years later at some 34k. So I suppose that begs the question about the cars service history. Personally I'm not bothered. Why? Because of how my car looks and drives and it was given a Lexus going over a few months ago and its Hybrid Health Check done the week before I picked it up. I dipped the oil and was pleasantly suprised how clean the oil was. I've put a bottle of ZX1 in the oil which I've done to my last 15 or more cars. So my smiles have come to how my car accelerates from speed. And the Service side I put in just to say that it's not so important that a car has a full dealer service bur a part one is important. Because I walk to work my mileage yearly will only be 3k miles. I will have it serviced at Lexus but they'll be intermediate ones only unless the 40 50 60 etc K mile service time arrives then the full service will take place. Sorry if I've bored you but I wanted to air my views experiences etc.

  5. At the lower end of the dash, which is the same as the GS From the pics, it looks exactly the same as the GS in terms of material quality to be honest The GS dash is also plastic and the red/black interior is one that looks much better in person due to the difficulty in picturing the colour (hence why it seems to be one of the more popular colour options on the F-Sport trims). This colour scheme may be more your style:

  6. Looking at any theoretical trade-in figures always seems to be a waste of time to me, irrespective of their source. The cost to change, for a specific model at a specific dealer, is the only thing that matters. Just look at the prices dealers advertise at - there can be £3-4k difference in the sticker price for identical cars, which gives a lot of leeway for what they will offer on a trade-in. Until you sit down and thrash out a deal on a specific vehicle (or get cash in your hand from a private sale), any other numbers are probably meaningless. Regarding the original question, I imagine that used prices for most saloons are going to slump because 'everyone' wants SUVs or crossovers. Hybrids seem to have seen a boost in resale values since dieselgate which will have slowed the decline for the GS, but it's an increasingly unpopular body style from a niche manufacturer so it's hardly a safe bet for retaining value. Still, I'd rather be trying to chop in a hybrid GS than a dirty diesel A6, E-class or 5-series. I can't imagine they'll be easy to move on, in the future.

  11. Probably gunge in the nozzle where you're getting the weak stream. Pull the nozzle out and pull the pipe off. Use an air line to blow air through the nozzle 'backwards' - you'll be amazed at what comes out.

  12. I like it and if they took design cues from other companies where would the choice for consumers be? Being different is decisive but I am glad they set friends as opposed to following them.

  13. Hi John, I would change the two hoses, I found one of mine to be cracked so I would recommend doing the same. An easy job but you'll have to adapt the new radiator slightly as it won't be identical to the original. The info is all here somewhere.

  14. And fitted, courtesy of Paul at Toyotatech (Guildford) who continues to provide excellent service. The difference is amazing! I’ve had to recalibrate how much pedal pressure I apply as the brakes are much more effective than previously Really happy , especially as the ongoing MOT advisory re light corrosion to the underbody has now been removed, after new shocks/springs and new brakes front and rear. New MOT, no advisories 😄

  17. I'm happy to do without a propeller shaft, but I agree that it's a shame Lexus doesn't offer a wider choice of powertrains in its models. We've had this discussion in relation to the non-existence of the NX450h; and the so far non-existent ES450h would also be an appealing package for private owners. While sales volumes here mean that Lexus UK is unlikely to advocate for a more powerful hybrid option, I'm surprised that the V6 drivetrain to be offered in some ES markets isn't hybridised like the RX and GS 450h.

  18. To be honest I think Lexus might me making a mistake.. why couldn;t they keep the rear wheek drive and do comfort or sporty across the GS by dping different tune of the hybrid system.. They need to learn a thing or two from the German's. The Germans have so many tunes of engine.. from economy through to the M, AMG, S etc.. With Lexus you only get a normal hybrid or straight through to the Fs... E.g. on my current IS, the next level of performance isn't even availble on the IS, it's with the RCF..Surey Lexus can do more with their hybrids ?

  19. They take the mick to be honest. Have you been in an E class? There's cheap plastic everywhere. There's metal effect plastic buttons for gods sake. The door cards are plastic but audi uses door pulls that are plastic yet nobody says anything. You have to pay £200-300 for a leather pack. I didn't think the other cars come with leather dashboards either? Also we're talking about a bunch of idiots who said that the GS-F had an indecisive gearbox, scratchy plastics and switchgear from a bygone era
