  1. You need to go with the medical expert view on this. I will tell you my thoughts. I think your medication is probably the same I got, Nitrate. It dilates your blood vessels so you have that little bit more room in there to let that bit more blood to your heart and thats why you feel better ,because you are getting more oxygen from your increased blood supply. The only reason that would stop working is not that it would stop dilating your blood vessels it would be that your blood vessels actually got that bit more blocked thereby reducing the effect of the Nitrate. However, the latter blockage did not occur overnight. It's been a multi year issue hence following that logic, any further meaningful blockage is hardly likely to occur in a matter of a few months. You see where this is going? Against that is one other factor which may be significant and I cannot comment on it. You have already had a heart attack and frankly I don't know what damage was done by that ,but it may be enough to want your Consultant to take no chances and get you done sooner than later. I reiterate your legs and your stamina will recover more quickly than your upperbody. Can you have the boating holiday without doing the heavy lifting bit. You could take the wheel for example, but running up sails etc I think that's a shout too far, because even if you do it I bet you will feel some discomfort from doing it. Trying to help, but please do whatever your consultant deems best for you.

  2. It is either severely discharged or faulty - you should expect to see between 12.6 - 12.8 v when fully charged. I'd certainly expect it to read higher after 80 mins of charging, but that might not be enough to fully charge it, depending on how flat it started out at. I assume you don't have a battery charger to fully charge it up? If not you don't actually need to drive the vehicle, you can just leave it in 'Ready' mode for it to charge the battery - turn off the heating system so the petrol engine doesn't fire up all the time to keep the cabin warm.

Jeez, don't even think about postponing this op ............. afterwards you'll find the sensible way to full recovery and your son will still be there and simply adjust to whatever he needs to for you Your health is far more important than the whim of a holiday ... that can take place with you chilling out and letting others take the helm ! 8. Robber Rishi and Jeremy unt are doing their bit too. Britain has downgraded its forecasts for the takeup of electric cars over the next seven years as higher financing costs and rising energy prices threaten to cut the incentive for drivers to replace combustion engines. The latest forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), released alongside the chancellor’s autumn statement, said that just 38% of new vehicles sold in the UK in 2027 would be electric, down from the 67% it predicted in March

  9. Don't think they are 'trying' anymore. Think I read the other day that he lost that case to the shareholders. By the way that is something I never like to see as a investor. Such a rift between shareholders and founder. It really doesn't inspire me with confidence that the founder has quite got the balance right between his interests and the interests of the people who came along and gave him a buyout for his early efforts.

  11. The beginning of the end of the Electric car fashion....Looks like it? Volvo pulling out of Polestar. BYD flooding the market with cheap subsidised, but quite good apparently, electric vehicles. Second hand prices going downhill rapidly. It's not looking good for them (including Lexus offerings - particularly the blighted RZ ) but might mean some bargains for us. On Thursday, Volvo said it would no longer provide financial support to Polestar and would look at offloading some of its 48pc stake in the company to other shareholders, including China’s Geely. (Most of the rest of Polestar is already owned by Geely chairman Eric Li.) The news is the latest blow to Polestar, an early mover in electric cars that has struggled to keep up with premium rivals such as Tesla and which remains heavily loss-making despite its cars receiving critical acclaim. It is also the latest rupture in the electric vehicle industry. Battery-powered cars were once predicted to dominate the vehicle market by the end of this decade, but their sense of inevitability has faded in recent months as sales slow and as targets have been pushed back.

  13. I thought I'd share my experiences having picked up my NX450h+ a couple of days ago. I'm the second owner, the first being a different Lexus dealership who pre-registered the car in late September 2023, so 4 months ago. 35 miles on the clock when I collected it. No second key fob, just the manual key. Their description of when I'd get the 2nd key fob was completely in line with the latest news on this forum. I was also told the "priority order" is based on chassis number, so mine should be coming soon despite only just buying the car. I was also told they will use my address for the letter as the registered owner of the car. I asked about locking wheel nuts/bolts. They hadn't thought of this, but having checked there were none in the car, he said they had been sent a few sets, so it was also supplied and fitted while I was doing all the paperwork. Impressive. The car came with a paper copy of the manual. My fuel flap is sticky. As a result they've ordered a new one and it will be fitted for me in a week or so while I wait So - all in all a good experience so far, and I really like the car.

  14. it's totally your choice BUT if you don't have one the RAC / AA whatever can't get you mobile again ...... they have all the necessary jacks etc so you don't need those . provided you have BreakDown Cover ok I can guaranteee that if you get a busted tyre . a pothole, on a Sunday night, Bank Holiday, 2am in the morning you WILL thank me for urging you to have that spare wheel It's so amazingly inconvenient if you don't have one ! 15. I think the 12 weeks you will be ok. Don't rush anything take every day in its stride. I cant emphasize enough time take your time. Don't be afraid to let others do things. Careful with lifting IE let others bring shopping bags from car. You wont be able to drive for 6weeks i think it was when i had mine. You will get stronger i promise but it takes time. Get enrolled in the cardiac rehabilitation class that helps. One milestone i remember is getting my surgical stockings off i had on both legs. They will harvest the veins from your legs if your lucky they might take one from the chest they are better and have less chance of clogging up again. You will gradually build up the distance you can walk each week going further. You'll be ok just don't rush and take your time.

Not in my dear daughters experience at all Might be she was just unlucky then ok then forget what I’ve been saying …… run around with that tube of gunk to fix that blowout destroyed tyre 😄 No one needs to ever carry a spare wheel or space saver these days, your breakdown recovery RAC AA whoever will sort it all out for you whatever whenever 24/7 👍 Malc

  20. Likewise. I kept the cables in the bag (bit of a wrestle to get them in!) and stored them in the boot. Eventually put them below the boot floor without the bag but also got fed up getting them out and in so they are back in the bag in the boot! Certainly didn't get a European safety kit and guess this must be a requirement now.

  22. Space saver tyres are great asset, but the idea of jacking up such a heavy vehicle on a very iffy jack can be a nightmare. In many circumstances, such as incline, dark, traffic and ability to remove and refit the wheel correctly and hoping the tyre has the correct pressure. I personally would have a tyre inflater and hope for the best if it is slow, or a breakdown service. At my age and a retired HGV engineer who has changed many lorry wheels on the side of the road and motorways (without the lane being closed) I would still be apprehensive on the road side.

  23. Errr, interesting. Mine came with the 2 cables and screwdriver but no European Safety Kit. I did get a bag but it's not big enough or the right shape for cables so I've never been sure about its intended purpose. Although the cables do fit under the boot floor, I have given up putting them there as it's too awkward to get them out every day or so.

  24. I had been wondering about the rate of drainage on my new battery. The issue was complicated, because temperatures had dropped. Still wondered if the battery drainage was higher than it should be. Anyway the last week resolved that issue. Temperatures have risen and the car has literally been stood for the full week without any charging. In that week the voltage reading has dropped to 12.45 volts and that looks reasonable to me given it started from 12.68 volts.

  30. Through circumstance I'm in a similar situation, using a Fold 4 and Honor Magic Pro 5. Samsung blows Honor out of the water on the software and stability front, however the Honor has a genuine all-day battery life even when hot-spotting to the iPad and doing GPS tracking. The V2 is too expensive and doesn't move the game on from the Fold....... I left the Apple walled garden after moving away from the iPhone 5S to a Galaxy S7. However my iPad pro has been really impressive interms of functionality and am now saving up for V2.0 of this.......

  35. Yes, across all models, not just the RX, it has been reliable to date. Whether it becomes an issue with age, like air suspension on older RX models, it is too early to tell.

  36. Sorry to read of your issue. I had a NX300H for 4 years (2018-2022) and probably experienced this problem on about 6 occasions. Have you tried switching the infotainment system off and on again rather than utilising the start button? I found that this was a cure at times. I think it's just a software quirk which reared its head for no apparent reason. Other than that I enjoyed 4 years of totally trouble free motoring covering 32000 miles supported by a great team at Lexus Edinburgh and hope that you enjoy your NX300 as much as I enjoyed mine.

  39. I wonder why supposedly fuses for cars are rated and tested in the video at 32 Volts and not 12 Volts? There is a significant difference in the power rating between the 2 voltages, if you take 32 Volts @ 2A = 64W, 12 Volts @ 2A = 24W. It would be nice to see how OEM fuses perform under the same conditions. In electronics there are various types of fuses, slow blow, quick blow, time delay and anti surge to mention just a few and domestic fuses/circuit breakers also have different characteristics for the same current values as in Type B/C etc. So which type do we have in vehicles I wonder.

  41. Doom and Gloom. Do you ever get the feeling that we ( as Lexus owners ) are about to become extinct? Canbus, Insurance, road tax ( for those of us that own proper cars ), Energy prices ( cold isn't it? ) no police, council tax, inflation, I am getting bored now.......... But at least I had good news today. The Doctor told me that I had early onset dementia so I will have forgotten about it by tomorrow morning. Yippee!

  42. I agree Lexus/Toyota need to act and fast. I recently had a attemped theft of my 2023 Lexus ES (will be footing the bill for damage out of my own pocket). I have no idea if the 2023 ES has encrypted can-bus or not, and the thief does not know either. This will result in owners of all cars having insurance premiums needless be increased. Being a new owner of a Lexus branded car I am disapointed in how this is being handled, but then I don't think Lexus is that good at customer care based on my initial purchase experience after delivery. I chose this brand as I thought they had a good reputation, oh how wrong I have been. All companies experience problems of some kind, the true test is how they sort to these problems. History shows that companies that fail their customers don't last long. Maybe their slogan can be "Buy a Lexus , the worst financial decision of your life"

  43. This topic seems to be going around in circles with no new information being added. Also, some members on here are getting rather militant in their posts... For me, there is only one true course of action: You have a choice of what car to own, so if this issue bothers you so much, choose to no longer be a Lexus owner. A significant drop in sales - and perhaps a flood of used cars that aren't selling - is the only thing I can see actually making a difference. Do you think JLR did what they are doing for owners' benefit? No, they are looking after their own interests as the negativity the issue was causing no doubt was beginning to hurt their sales forecasts. As for how much money you might lose trading in your car now, it depends on how much this issue affects you. Peace of mind is worth paying the price...

  44. Yes Steve, to access the adjusters a small cut out is required. It is quite easy to judge where to cut when replacing the boot carpet trim. You could dab a bit of chalk or grease on the top of the strut and then slowly press the carpet on top of it to make the mark for the hole. Some owners have fitted quite large (2-3") round pop out covers over the top of them to make it neat and that removes the need for pin point accuracy with the first cut. I'm no car wizard and I had no trouble with it. If you are going to get professional help to fit the MeisterRs I'm sure they would cut the holes for you for a tiny bit extra.

  45. The other problem I've had is with the headlamp aim being too low. It satisfies the MOT standards but the dipped beam doesn't project quite far enough. (in my case lowering the car didn't help) Careful minor manual adjustment fixed it but I think it can be cancelled out if there is a need to do a zero calibration procedure. So many systems can be affected by even a failure of just one sensor, whether it's a height, yaw or wheel speed sensor.

  46. Steve , Quite often with the headlights the surface of the clear plastic degrades over the years which effects the lighting performance. I have had very successful results correcting this on my SC430 and Mercedes CLK 320 by using MOTHERS Mag & Aluminium Metal Polish 5oz for most metals **COMPLETE KIT** : Amazon.co.uk: Automotive I applied and polished it by hand with 3 applications with excellent results to the lens. I expect even better results using a machine polisher or drill. It does work! (read the Amazon reviews)

  47. Unfortunately we are all too aware of this issue on these forums. Back as far as 2021 we had reports of stolen RXs where the owner was sure the keys weren't relayed - very likely to have been a CAN bus attack, we just didn't know at the time.
    1 point
  48. I am still waiting to get my canbus fitted - in the meantime I am using a good old Halfords sourced crook lock on the steering wheel - clearly visible and an extra deterrent - on top of this the car is always double locked - if they can still get away wiht my pride and joy, then I know I have done all I can.

  49. Sorry to hear the bad news and it's just awful. I think more needs to be done to stop theses criminals and also if they are breaking them up or sending abroad. Sadly more cars are electronic nowadays and perhaps the old crooklock of the 90s need to come back!
