  1. Check they have given you the price for the older Lexus, which is a reduced price which they don’t automatically offer, plus once you have the price if you are a gold member it will be cheaper again. Just a thought 👍🤗
  2. Sounds wonderful Malc, if only it was as you described. Honda actually have the best trial car out at the moment. Whist there will inevitably be some hydrogen cars and probably buses and commercial vehicles , I’m afraid the future for the the majority is electric. There is much written about all of this and the reasons why.... have a read cheers, Roger
  3. I claimed for a new windscreen, paid the excess and it made no difference at all to my renewal premium. I have been with LV for over 10 years and I do check at renewal and LV for me is always the best quote. Can get it cheaper but not like for like.
  4. Well that is interesting because on my uk spec LS, there is a sensor that switches to recirc if there are fumes in the air so I sit there smiling 🤗🤗
  5. Looks suspiciously like to Northern Spain to me John ?
  6. Thanks Herbie, appreciate your guidance and will try it in future, Cheers, Roger
  7. Hi Herbie, understand from your perspective . TBH I am pretty non tech, I don’t even know how to put pics on the site. Really must try harder 😜
  8. Herbie is it not poss just to expand the photo out. I have done it on an iPad no probs.
  9. That is good news, thank you, I didn’t know that, the wife’s is a 2018 so hopefully ok then.
  10. I think the LC is a wonderful, stylish, brilliantly built car. However there is a limited market and to put its value into context, my friend has. Merc SL AMG, all extras, 2 years old, cost him £90k , new. He has 6k miles on the clock and he was just offered £45k part ex against a new one.
  11. Agree with Malc, surely insurance will cover it, did with mine, for a small excess, and no subsequent penalty by my insurance co later.
  12. Well Malc Lexus has just wiped the floor in Whatcar Reliability Survey 2019, with Toyota and Suzuki (Toyota Associate), and that is quite an exceptional result. As often happens here, a few reported faults gives a totally disproportionate impression, but it would appear that Lexus have honoured their liabilities. It is often the case that the smart manufactures spot problems in advance and deal with faulty components when the vehicle is in for service, often without the owner knowing. That is the world we live in today, but I don’t think a few water pumps are ‘really really exceptional’ to be honest.
  13. No I think a 2L Turbo. Does the job, but wanted a Toyota as used to the controls, as I keep using the wiper switch when I want to use the indicators 😂
  14. Well , probably good for you, because you weren’t interested anyway, I was given a pretty naff Holden Commodore, as that was all that was available, so until next car hire in a few weeks time you will have to wait .....sorry.😜
  15. I have literally just returned in a Camry Taxi to our hotel in Sydney and casually asked the driver what mileage the vehicle had done. It all looked in good condition , no squeaks or rattles and a 2014 hybrid model. He told me apart from brakes etc, and a new starter battery everything was original, it ran 24 hours and he showed me the odometer 761000 kms. He did say he changed the engine oil every 2 weeks.
  16. I don’t know the specific answer to your question, but sometimes mine does lower, but am only really aware because I can hear the compressor working, when I start up. Runs perfectly otherwise, and I am not concerned at all.
  17. I am on holiday in Australia for the next 8 weeks and have hire cars booked in various locations, with a Camry specified, so if I get one to drive, I will let you know. As an aside, in Sydney now and the whole taxi fleet, of which there are many , all seem to be new Camry’s
  18. I would make enquiries first about cost at an independent. I did this for my daughter, with a 2012 RX at a very good indie that I know. They were using non Lexus consumables, and the cost difference against Lexus Chester was not worth it, when you take into account the free battery health check and warranty. Lexus offer a discounted service cost for older vehicles, which I would think you qualify for.
  19. Unless they develop a decent public transport system and/or workable Park and Ride as air quality is now a very serious issue. Traffic congestion is no longer fun, which will eventually affect out of town retail parks. Try going to Cheshire Oaks, or more importantly try leaving Cheshire Oaks.
  20. Interesting, I think Toyota in the Uk is already 5 years, but very welcome I’m sure if Lexus copy
  21. My daughter has just bought an E Golf and you are correct in what you say. However whilst it has its limitations, it suits their lifestyle and was particularly good value on a lease basis. They are very pleased so far, and with the right electricity supplier at certain times they will actually pay you to charge in the night time.
