  1. Absolutely. You can't have the reds flashing while in motion. They are however, ok when stationary. There was quite a bad smash on the M62 not so long ago (2 seconds sooner and I would have been in it - literally in front of me). Some fella got out of his car, staggered for a bit and fell down in the inside lane! I managed to reverse a bit to put a bit of space to stop him getting pizzafied, blocking off the inside lane. When the police arrived I expected a few questions but he just said they were a good idea in extreme hazard conditions and told me never to use them while moving though as that would be an offence. Phew.
  2. Yep - there's a couple of high intensity LED banks on the parcel shelf. Seriously, I originally did them because some of the sites I go on, I have to be high vis, and I didn't want to use the magmount flashing nipple. I did it on my 200 as well... it looked something like this: (made the gif up from a couple of photographs so you don't see the effect - I should have video'd it really.) If anyone wants the circuit I'll draw it up. Fogs still works as normal of course.
  3. I did my mates GS and he was getting flashed a bit so I put some 10ohm resistors inline just to dim them a bit. I think the reflectors are too good in them, even though they are only 5w You need to wire your fogs like mine if you want people to back off:- (Oh, how they do do very quickly too. Added a couple of high quality LED packs on the shelf too. Works a treat.) Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  4. Handy tip if you are washing the car - close the mirrors manually (using the switch on the door), get out and set the alarm, the mirrors open for you.
  5. Here you go chaps. This is based entirely on the book that came with the timer unit. (Redz kindly scanned it in). I can accept no responsibility on this at all. It is someone else's timer, the electronics I have no control over. If your car turns purple, etc. don't blame me. Have a look at this and see what you think. As ever, DO NOT be tempted to even check it without an inline fuse on the power! When you are testing, make sure every door is closed, boot, bonnet, etc. or the alarm won't switch on (No, I'm not going to name the numerous people I've had mail me about that one - you know who you are ) It appears as if there is no earth. This is normal - it picks it up from the footwell mirror supply earth. Set the timer to about 8 seconds and there you go!! Have fun and keep us informed. Oh, one final thing - make sure you test your internal sensor after this is all finished.
  6. Yes, you can use it for the full closure but you will need to solder on a couple of wires to the back of the relay coil. These will be the feed for the other relays that you will need. You can't do the lot from one relay - it would short a couple of different circuits.
  7. Ouch! Glad he is on the mend - it could have been worse if it had gone into his eye socket. In my early days as a telecom engineer I was repairing a telephone box link with another one of the lads. Some kids came past and threw a banger into the box. In his rush to get out he slipped and his screwdriver went right into his eyesocket and out of the side of his face. He lost the eye but was lucky it went that way. That was ugly. His screams were unmerciful. My Dad had a fall not so long ago on his outside step. It looks like he's had a good hiding. He is fine now.
  8. If someone takes a photo looking directly down on it (so I can see the writing on the board), I will integrate it into the destructions if you want.
  9. Have a good one fella! :yahoo: :yahoo:
  10. Oh dear. You might be lucky though and its blown an internal fuse. They have surface mounted wickman fuses that don't look anything like a normal fuse. They look just like most of the rest of the components. Take it apart and look for anything labelled F1, F2, etc. Unfortunately they can be any colour and no set size so you will need to look at markings on the board.
  11. I have no reference, but it has an internal giro and is linked to the speed pulse. It is obviously only software prediction based on the turning, speed and road shape but does it remarkably well. When I go through the Mersey tunnel (just over 2miles), it keeps it perfect with the bends and distance. Even as I go past the Wirral/Liverpool marker it is spot on. Its strange because You can see the exit on the map before you see the light as it is quite a tight curve in the queensway tunnel. Amazingly accurate.
  12. Yes its the pink one, 15A switched feed. Just for future ref., wht/blk stripe wires always go to ground on the IS200
