  1. JZS147 is the series I and JZS161 is the series II
  2. IS300 is about 4k more than the IS200 GS430 was about 4k more than the GS300. and the 400h sort of compares to the X5 4.4i SE in performance terms and that starts at £48k (£51k if you try and spec it to a SE-L and falls short on quite a few options)
  3. You can get them from Lexus dealers.
  4. Does that mean there'll be a GS300 and a GS350 next year, or are they replacing the 300 with the 350? Would be strange to have both on the GS, but only the 350 on the IS ← It is a bit odd. It looks like the 300 won't be available in Japan and they are getting the 350. Don't know why this is or why Toyota have developed two new engines.
  5. I meant there isn't a date. The GS350 isn't out until next year so I guess the IS may come out at the same time. If the UK gets it or not is a different matter.
  6. The lexus.jp site have now been updated to include the new IS. http://lexus.jp/
  7. if you have curtain airbags or isofix rear seat fixings or the new style dash then you have brake assist and electronic brake force distribution. I must say I haven't noticed any different in the brake pedal feel between pre and post facelift models. Sounds like you need to bleed the brakes or get the pedal adjustment checked.
  8. on my old GS I just compressed the springs and removed the springs/shocks without problem.
  9. worth thinking about the prolex fingerprint immobiliser
  10. cs are not pillow mounts so no noise ;)
  11. not sure of the actual weight but they should be lighter than the stock springs/shocks. the adjustment is done using the two claw spanners on the left of the pic. this table gives the pre-set ride height http://www.tein.com/csdamp.html
  12. So you are starting at the beginning of the week (Sunday morning) and will be complete that night :o :P
  13. how much is the actual part? Labour is probably at least 2/3 of that price so the saving for an inferior part won't be that much.
  14. the alarm won't drain the battery in a week.
  15. The reflectors on the IS300 are designed for HIDs and will give a slightly better light output compared to 200 lights with HID bulbs so just fit the 300 lights.
  16. search on google for o2 simulator there are lots about. Probably have to get one from the US. You either need a proper 4 wire simulator or just a 2 wire simulator and keep the other 2 wires connected to the heater on the existing O2 sensor otherwise you will get a CEL as the ECU can detect a failed heater circuit as well as incorrect readings coming from the sensor.
  17. I believe the extra wires run to the exterior mirrors to control them. You won't need to use those wires usless you have new mirrors as well.
  18. Hope you are not comparing Ford's IPS with the Lexus pre crash system? Ford's IPS is not pre-crash. The pre-crash system will be probably be an option combined with the cruise control and will cost about £2200 extra as it does on the latest LS and new GS.
  19. Not that fortunate as it only gives you a very limited throttle range, just enough to make it possible to drive to a garage.
  20. so there isn't a true reading after about 6,000 rpm so the 6841rpm is just rubbish.
  21. what are the numbers along the bottom of the graphs? Cannot make them out.
  22. torque curve should be like this: power:
