  1. My wife rang our son from within the vets surgery and was chatting to him and I heard my son answer the phone and I was sat in the car and it was definitely more than ten metres
  2. Yes as Bluesman says, great gates! hope you don't have to get out of the car to open them though. That's another fob you'll need
  3. Sounds good Thom. I have two longish trips coming up. This weekend will be Exmouth to Lincoln and the next one will be Exmouth to Norwich. It will be interesting to see what sort of return I will get on those journeys. In addition to the mpg returns, it will be interesting to see how the comfort element stacks up on 5 and 6 hour plus journeys.
  4. Welcome Graham. My second Lexus was exactly the same as yours, a 57 plate 250, lovely motor. Enjoy your new car.
  5. A big welcome to the forum Paul. Lovely motor, enjoy!! Lots of help/advice/guidance on here, great bunch of people.
  6. Quality and individuality for me. I just love it when i go down to the seafront and it and the car parks are packed to the gunwales but only the odd Lexus can be spotted (not that often either). Row upon row of Audi's BMW's and Mercs etc. I'm guilty of wearing a big grin when I'm out in mine!
  7. What actually happened was, my wife took our sons dog to the vet and whilst she was in the surgery she had to call him on her mobile phone to clarify something and, I was sat in her Yaris out in the car park and I then heard the phone ringing through the in-car system, I then heard my son answer the phone but could not hear what my wife was saying to him.
  8. I was sat in my wife's Toyota Yaris yesterday and that happened to me too. Another interesting thing happened too. I was sat in her car whilst she was in the vet's surgery and the phone started to ring, I then heard my son chatting to his mum, I couldn't hear her speaking though, I was then frantically looking around the car to see where she had put her phone but she had had it with her all the time! Am I right in thinking that there was obviously a very strong bluetooth signal.
  9. A big welcome to you Keanu. I had a very nice 220d before buying my 250 auto and then my current 300h. The latter two are much better cars. There is an absolute mountain of information on here about the 220d and before long you will get many many replies to your question. Don't be at all surprised when you start being eased in another direction though, it will inevitably happen I can assure you. All I can say is, digest all of the info that comes along, before making your decision. I will say no more as there are much better qualified members than me to advise you.
  10. Exactly the year, colour and spec that I had before I got my 300h. You will just love it. Enjoy, enjoy enjoy.
  11. My front and rear cameras were fitted by the Lexus Dealer as part of the deal when I purchased my car from them. i wouldn't be without my Panorama X2 now.
  12. Glad you said that, my wife thinks that I'm the only person in the world that does that sort of thing!
  13. Good for you Philip, well done. Something else will turn up and will probably be for the best. Welcome to the club too.
  14. You are obviously not au fait with all of the cars technical abilities, you can press the snow button as often as you like but it won't snow, the car is clever enough to know that you aint got winter tyres fitted and so therefore won't put your safety at risk!!!
  15. Sleek looking motor, welcome to the club.
  16. A big welcome to you andywin and congratulations on your choice of car. I'm sure that you will enjoy your new car when it arrives. Lots of good friendly advice on here. Would be good to see some piccy's when you get it.
  17. Good luck with the new motor toffee_pie, hope you get lots of pleasure from it. We'll miss you!
  18. Hi again David. Don't laugh will you........................................it was me who started the thread that I mentioned. Just shows, the old brain matter doesn't work as well as it used to! Here is the link to the thread, took me a while to find it and it took me by surprise when I realised that it was me who started it. Silly old codger aint I eh!!
  19. Yes there is only one reversing light. In my opinion it is a totally stupid idea. I was driving along some very narrow and unlit lanes here in Devon and it was necessary to reverse to createroom for another vehicle to get past and, with only one reversing light it doesn't make things easy. There was another thread on here a while ago where it was discussing the possibility of fitting rear fog lights in place of the rear reflectors and changing the existing rear fog light to a second reversing light. Not to sure if anyone actually did it. I must say that it appealed to me to do the mod. I think that someone also pointed out that rear reflectors are a legal requirement and so it would probably be wise to fit some additional ones after changing the originals.
  20. Welcome to the club Keith, enjoy your 'new' car. I've had a 220d and it was superb. Smiling to myself this morning trying to imitate your accent with the 'Wadda bout ye'
  21. Oh normski, you've revived a few great memories there! I was at Manorbier Camp (Artillery) and Penally Camp in 1958, firing anti aircraft guns at targets out over the sea. Tenby and Saundersfoot then became two of my favourite places to visit. I spent my honeymoon in Saundersfoot and so Pembrokeshire is an all time favourite of mine. i recall a super eatery called 'Bon Appetite' probably not there anymore! I visited Manorbier Camp a few years ago, just to jog the old memory modules!
  22. Very very nice indeed. I just love those wheels. Enjoy.........
  23. Another reason why I'm pleased I've got front and rear cameras fitted. i'm sure that there is a good chance that a good aoutcome could be secured.
  24. Welcome to the club Andrew. Don't rush your search, take your time. Another valued member on here, 'Normski' will tell you that it's well worth the wait to find the right car. There are some really nice ones out there, it's just a case of being patient. Welcome to the club.
  25. Welcome to the club Ray. That is exactly what I say about my three Lexuseseseseses (Lexii?) I even said the same about my 220d when I had it, lovely car but then bettered by my 250, and now even better with my 300h. You're obviously a Baggie, no prizes though for guessing what I am! Enjoy the club.
