  1. Where was it for sale? I live in Pontefract, but wouldn't have been confident in assessing a car for someone else.
  2. Hooray.......... No breakage and no cost to the NHS? Confidence, that's all you needed. Make sure you look very closely how it works while the glass is off, then clean, clean, clean. When you've done that grease, grease, grease with a suitable grease for the surfaces you encounter. Good luck.
  3. It's a boss car. You can spend your days selling powder and anabolics from its boot outside any gym "HAVE"
  4. Don't you need to look at the problem before you start ordering parts and worrying about the cost?
  5. That was going to be my next suggestion, wrap them, with some old towels.
  6. My other half, before I built a car port for her car, used an old sheet to cover the windscreen held on by the wipers, it wrapped around the wing mirrors. You'd be surprised how clear the windscreen and mirrors were the next morning whatever the weather.
  7. I think you possibly answered your own question there Steve. Glad I don't have the auto folding mirror come winter, my uncle has them and he has sat on the drive waiting for them to work.
  8. No offence meant, but from that reply you need to find a garage/mechanic you can trust. Please do not get under the bonnet with a spanner.
  9. Or imagine what it would have looked like if the advert had said "needs some attention"
  10. Rob, I get from your post your no expert! You're mechanic seems to be a member of that same club. Try some diluted washing up liquid sprayed on the suspect part, if it stops you've usually found the culprit.
  11. A concern to me with Eric's car is that it is sucking in hot air from within the engine bay. Hot air is less dense and therefore has less oxygen. That is why the air scoop is placed to the front of the car to facilitate cold dense air for a better burn. And as John touches on, the air intake is tuned so the pulse from the combustion process are in synch.
  12. Frigging love them. LOL, ordered some.
  13. I don't think it will be damp. Searching on the net I found the below article. It suggests that your outer and inner screen have stuck together. Try the simple remedy the guy suggests, sellotape. Love simply fixes like that: lol: http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?k=58041
  14. Never heard of that on any cars multi media screen. Are you sure it's damp? not a defect in the very expensive screen.
  15. Just put the code in the search field, putting too much information in is as bad as not enough. The code is a generic obd code and will apply to many cars not just Lexus.
  16. Never heard of a sat nav destination lock, but a Bing search rather than a forum search brings up this..... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/46923-lexus-is-oem-satnav-motion-lock-override-solution/?mode=threaded
  17. Fuel pressure sensor code......if you search on YouTube you will find lots of information that may be of help. Good luck.
  18. Welcome, did you leave both cars unlocked?
  19. Having an educated guess I would say the wiring should be there for left handers. A quick root around in the boot with a multimeter should confirm this, you should find the voltage when reverse is selected.
  20. Brings tears to my eyes to see this sort of damage, caused by other idiots who's insurance companies pay out, leaving them unaccountable, and the victim out of pocket. Rant over.
  21. Or......RTFM Barry..... Or get the wife or one of the kids to read it and explain what the green and yellow lines mean on the reversing camera screen, a close friend had to have this explained to him.
  22. Every Lexus ever born and every car made in the past ten years has probably had this option fitted as standard. :titter ye not:
  23. Some of you people are a little precious. I believe I said "may be amusing in parts", followed by an emoji, meaning the thread rather than the alleged "dodgy goings on". How can I judge the "dodgy goings on" as amusing, the beans have not been spilt. But....I do hope the "dodgy dealer" has a right, and is able to reply. I feel I have been proven correct already, its amused me after 10 posts:lol: I reserve the right to make judgment, take the pizz and generally cause mayhem, this, after all, is an open...ish and liberal forum albeit with some members that lack a sense of humour.........So, on with the show. PS....lighten up boys. and add me to your ignore list.
  24. Oh dear, I feel an acrimonious, "he did this!...I said that!" thread about to unwind with no resolution, even after dozens of pages of mud slinging. Nevermind, get it off your chest Phil, it may be amusing in parts:wink:
