  1. I like to turn the satnav volume right down to zero and rely on the directions on the screen because there are always too many spoken directions. When you do this in an NX whenever a satnav direction is spoken it mutes the stereo and then you don't hear the direction and you don't hear the stereo. Pretty stupid imo. Unless I'm missing something?
  2. Yep you're probably right. I've noticed a difference in feel between front and back. Front is softer, quieter and grippy whereas the rear feels harder, noisier and less grippy, complete opposite. It's going to be worth swapping the rears because I don't like the feel. It feels like the front is very pointy and the rears will break away. Not in the dry, more noticeable in damp greasy conditions than full wet. Tell you what, if you think an RX on Dunlops is bad you should try a Jaguar XF 3.0DS on Dunlops in the wet. Scary in the wet even with all of today's safety aids. 600NM of torque flooding in all of a sudden made for an interesting drive at times
  3. My economy is back down to 39mpg every tankful now we're out of the summer too. Averaged 42mpg for just about every tankful from June to September
  4. Had two new Goodyear Efficient Grip SUV tyres fitted this morning. Early days but the ride is much softer on these at the front than with the original fit Yokahama BluEarth tyres. Can't feel anything like the amount of short sharp ridges I could feel before. Quieter too.
  5. Just had two new Goodyear Efficient Grip SUV tyres fitted to my NX this morning. Noticeably quieter and much more (wet) grip than the Yokahama BluEarth tyres that came off. So much quieter that I may well replace the rears before they need to be. Early days but I felt the difference straight away. Ok, brand new tyres will always be grippier in the wet than worn tyres but I don't ever remember my NX, when the original fronts were much newer, being this grippy at the front. Changed at 26k miles so good wear from the original fronts but I'd rather trade grip for wear any day.
  6. I like cakes, as my body will visibly demonstrate on the day. I have another reason for coming along. I intend to make the plunge at some point with an ISF once the stars are aligned. Would be good to meet owners and understand what it's like to run one of these cars. Had two V8s in the past and want to tick that box for a third time before I'm too old and my cars start smelling if P1ss...
  7. Depends upon one's attitude to risk I think. I've run cars both with and without breakdown cover and I've often wondered about this
  8. A welcome from me also. Great name too!
  9. Repair completed. Great service and a great job, I can't see where the chips were. Glad I paid for the cover and peace of mind for the next 2 1/2 years too. I suppose it depends how you use your car and where you have to park it regarding whether the cover works for everyone. Mine does 20k miles per year and spends time in hotel carparks, station carparks and public carparks and dings and dents are unavoidable in today's cramped carparks with legislation re minimum carpark space sizes still derived from the 60s and 70s when cars were quite a bit smaller, width especially
  10. Cheers for confirming. Shame. I think this is the weakest area of the NX300h
  11. Car companies spend quite a bit of money perfecting their heating and ventilation systems so I tend to leave mine in auto all the time and only tweak the temperature up or down if feeling a little cold or hot. I also switch off a couple of heating and ventilation settings in the menu because I find they have an adverse effect on how good the car is at maintaining a set temperature in auto.
  12. Made my claim, all efficient and well handled so far. Car gets done this Friday so I'll advise how it goes. Small cluster of three chips on the driver's door, from stones I'd say. Hopefully they'll do a good job. Worth getting done because it only costs £10 excess, hopefully I'll be saying the same Friday night!
  13. Looks nice to me. Will have to see on in the flesh though. Have they done anything with the engine/batteries/motor?
  14. Just watch out for speed humps. That looks low, especially with the additional element under the front bumper assembly
  15. Could be but it feels so flimsy. Haven't experienced that in other cars
  16. Going to hijack the thread for a short while.... Has anyone noticed how flimsy the metal is on the roof of an NX? I notice it every time I wash mine. It flexes much more than any other car roof I've ever washed. Feels like it's made out of very thin metal indeed.
  17. Looks like that stands out quite a bit. Especially given the other three are ok. I'd be tempted to ask for replacement or pay for a replacement. Spoils the look. Strange though, it seems to be quite localised. Could you sand them down a bit, apply some rust treatment and paint? Finding a good colour match might be tricky though. Could maybe try to find a scrapped IS300h and buy a caliper. One of those things that your own eye will always be drawn too.
  18. Spacers do make a difference. They effectively change the wheel offset which changes the point where the tyre is in contact with the road in relation to the up/down and forward/backward movement of the suspension which can have an effect on handling.
