Lexus GS3 facelift automatic side mirrors folding module
Aras replied to Aras's topic in Buy & Sell Parts & Accessories
Yes, this not for prefacelift. GS430 was made up to when GS got facelifted and i haven't seen seen or heard about UK GS430 having auto fold function as it was not available even in japan up until roughly mid 2006,i might be wrong about it but my UK 430 haven't had one. GS460 UK spec i haven't touched one so cant speak about it, but imports have it as standard. GS450h and GS300 UK spec no matter the trim auto folding was not available, same for EU,UK,USA specs, only asia, and only certain trim levels had it. -
Wouldn't a standard IS carpet fit? Worth checking, or if not, vehicle breakers may be your best bet...

Is it really glass ? Or the usual plastic that, by law, modern cars use for headlamps ……… whichever, can’t it be “ made good “ with some sort of filler product ……. and save you some £535 🤔 Don't know what other damage is involved but your likely costs covering it all might become rather challenging ! Good luck Malc -

Re: fuel eco; have seen a significant jump in recent week, last two long trips (>400 miles over 2 days) have seen 43, 46 and 48mpg average based on brim to brim. Am happy with that. -
Sorry to hear that about your Varta @Malc1 but you're right. Sometimes it's not worth the hassle.

I have a 2009 450H at 124,000 miles. Has been a great car. Only 'major' failure was a replacement heater fan under the used warranty. It does leak water somewhat - around the windscreen causes the brake light relay to fail every few years, plus some leaks into the boot. Not really worth fixing. Just had some MoT advisories on the front suspension arm ball joints but thankfully the arms themselves seem to be ok. Replaced both antiroll bar drop links following MoT failure. All seems reasonable given I live in an area obsessed by speed bumps.

This may be a shot in the dark but try unplugging the connectors for the tail lights and see if the car can start, from what I remember certain aftermarket headlights (HCMotions specifically) produced a VSC warning due to pre facelift vehicles not supporting LED tail lights out of the box so these came with a resistor to support them. Could be a similar situation depending if youre pre facelift 09 or post facelift 09 that the tail lights arent necessarily compatible or just straight up damaged / non working

That's an interesting concept, I can see that removing them is really simple too, unlike conventional roof bars. The price is a bit steep though, more than the roof bars from lexus.... -

I've used the sandisk extreme for 4 years and test every now and again by downloading and scrolling through the captured data. Seams to be fine. What isn't is the little supercapacitor in the camera. It practically died after 12 months and needs to be plugged in for powering up. It used to hold just enough charge to scroll through the menu when first setting it up but not now. Could do with a new 'lytic cap as the original ought to have lasted at least 5 years but not opening it up to replace it, as the camera works fine when powered via ignition circuit. -

Ask to see the trunk chassis and frame area – to check for water ingress – it can be a bit of an issue with our 400s. Know when the belt and water pump were last done Service history is nice to see (20 year old motors may have a mixed heritage in that regard) Nice to get 2 working, unbroken fob keys and maybe a valet if your lucky Check radiator plastic for hairline cracks and scalding marks (rad replacement needed). -
I get the claims, as most manufacturers claim similar but the reality (from research) shows that most owners of earlier EVs find that the loss is greater than 10% at 10 years, and there's no denying the lie of the green arguments for them. There's nothing wrong with EVs for those that like them and enjoy them (and why not? It's personal choice) but no-one really has to be convinced as the data is there for anyone to find. They're not sustainable, and as gimmicky (or essential, depending on the pov) and perhaps helpful as the apps like Z Map are, it's no substitute for pulling into the nearest petrol station to top up. The map apps won't always reliably tell you how many are in service or are free. I've been talking to several neighbours who own EVs and one has bought another diesel after their frankly stressful attempts at longer distance journeys which they do often for work. Their long term ownership of EVs convinced them that they will use their ICE car for the longer trips now and they use their EV for more local journeys which is where they score the highest. They wished now that they'd bought a hybrid instead of having two cars on the driveway where one would have done. The choice I guess is made depending on use and affordability. (incidentally, their diesel is cheaper too to run). As for arguments that infrastructure will catch up, well it's had over ten years to do that and is no-where near, it's disparate due to the number of operators and poorly regulated (on service) with arguably Tesla owners being the only ones benefitting from more reliable pull in and top up (which is paid for with the car purchase, or used to be).

Yes, I was having a conversation with a guy in America who went for the Fidanza SMF and it's not very good. There's a lot chatter and it just doesn't work very well on this car. When I had my first clutch changed at 140k miles, the flywheel was still fine to re-use. Garages tend to squeeze you for it and say you need a flywheel when you don't.

On all other models you get two normal keys and a keycard in addition on certain grades. Not sure if Lexus cheaped out specifically on the 300e but I don't see why.

Hello, I have recently started driving the RX400h (2006) and I hear the same whining noise from the rear diff when driving and when I spin the rear wheels by hand with the car jacked up. Did the OP solve this issue by replacing the rear traction motor assembly (aka "differential")?
