  2. Looking at this image, the black section with writing on, that is not brake shims are they? Just installed new pads and shoes and completely forgot to check but i remember seeing the black almost like card feeling bit on the back like in this image. Should i have a metal plate behind the pads with grease? Secondly... I still have a clunking sound under braking that clunks as you press the brake and clunks when you release the brake on the rears. Fronts are fine. New pads/shoes didn't fix the issue and again with the pry bar i'm unable to find anything that moves within the suspension. Could it be a bad CV joint or possibly rear diff mounting? Those are the only things i've not checked. Driving me absolutely nuts i can't solve this. Any possible GoPro mounting locations under the car to see movement? I have a small ratchet strap i can use to mount the camera with.

  4. ….Malcolm - thank you…..how nice are you ! yes, all my passenger’s were so thrilled, when they first saw The Lexus, to be collected in a limo - then so silently whisked up to Edinburgh City - many drifting off to a blissful sleep in the back seat ! I used to tease them and say ‘ I understand you asked the office for the limousine, today’ - alway’s raised surprise and a chuckle 😃. probably around 5 of the total 10.5k miles, within 6+ month’s on cc dutie’s - all without missing a beat ! anthony
  5. @Herbie can you please send me the same information you send Nick and others please ? thank you!

  7. Better to have driven and sweated than never to have driven at all. Or something like that.
  8. Hello, I own a 2009 Lexus IS250, and I've been experiencing issues with the revs fluctuating and the car stalling when I turn on the AC. My mechanic suggested replacing the AC compressor. Could someone provide me with the original compressor brand and model number since I plan to keep the car and need to purchase one?
  9. Hmm - looks like an electrical glitch. Perhaps a loose or corroded terminal in the HT circuit. Unlikely to be a component failure.
  10. Mines fitted with RCF alloys and offset is a bit more aggressive. 255 Front and 275 Rear. Rears slightly rub, so will be raising the rears slightly. And as Ivacerk said, these cars look better with beefier tires.
  11. Never taken one out but looking at this used one ,it does look like a push fit . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284594414761
  12. I’d be giving my dealership a call soon as I need to decide whether I am going to return the car to them or not at the end of the term in July. —C
  13. My ISF is listed on AT. I can only tell you that low mileage 14' ISF would cost you around £35-£40k in total if you import it yourself. With similar mileage like mine you will pay £24-£30k if you ever find one. I must admit that I don't get UK market and what people really want. For example the 2013 ISF (UK version) on AT with low mileage should have been gone in 15 minutes but it is still for sale. Yet sometimes people pay £50k for a rusty chassis of one of those "collectible" R34's, Supras etc. The only reason being "because"... Maybe one day I will figure out what's going on in peoples minds.
  14. It sounds like the USB port in the car could be at fault. Is there a second port you can try?
  15. The car went back in to the tyre place this morning for the sensor replacement (apologies Don as i couldn't get to Manchester for the pre diagnosis). After fitment they plugged in the laptop in order to register the new sensor. Their system said all good as it showed a green tick, but the car appears to have different ideas. I now have this on screen? The fitter said that it may cancel out after maybe a few miles .... but nothing as yet
  16. I have a 2015 RC-F but no idea if TPMS is similar on all models so I posted here to maybe have more chance of responses. I had a slow puncture in a rear wheel, the air was leaking from where the valve meets the rim, I took it to a tyre place & they couldnt get the TPMS off because it was seized & was going to break, so they asked me what I wanted to do, I said it was ok to replace it, so they broke it off & put a new TPMS sensor on that wheel, cloned the ID etc. I drove away after but I noticed none of the tyre pressures were showing on the dash, the TPMS light wasnt on, I thought it might take a few miles to recalibrate or something, but it never came back. I read the manual, did the turn on the ig, press the TPMS button under the dash, it flashed 3 times & then waited a few minutes, turned it off & back on again, didnt work. Plugged in the diag tool, it shows all 4 sensor ID's & all sensors are reading a pressure. Took it back to the tyre place, they spend 2 hours messing with it, resetting it all etc & gave up, refunded me for the job. Anyone else had these issues, does it HAVE TO BE an OEM Lexus TPMS sensor? any ideas before I get ripped off by Lexus dealerships? would TPMS be covered by that "Relax" warranty? So to sum it up, no TPMS light is on, all values on the dash are -:--, all tyre pressures are good, I did the reset procedure from the manual & all 4 TPMS sensors are transmitting & reading values when viewing them on the diag tool. Anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks.
  17. Next to the engine. The hybrid battery is under the rear axel.

  20. Imzy.........There are Youtube videos of Toyota models (Yaris and Rav 4) with touch screens that illustrate the method to gain access to the camera settings. One showed touching and holding the audio button on the screen whilst turning the head lights on/off 3 times and another also a menu button. I suggest you do a Youtube search on “disappearing guide lines rear view camera” which will allow you to do a re-calibrate. Hope this helps (most of the videos were in the USA)
  21. Just Wonder how many Other members of the L.O.C. Have Bought this Wonderfull little gadget... !!!!
  22. Where did you get the zip download from? Every time I’ve tried to use the incar update I get an error and the dealer tells me I can’t update it. I didnt know there was a download location for manual updates
  23. May seem like an obvious question, but is the car running at the correct factory tyre pressures? Dealership have a habit of over inflating tyres when a car is serviced, not sure why. The first thing I do after a service is to lower them to the correct pressure as it makes a huge difference.
  24. We export our excess solar with Octopus for 15p/kWh and charge the car for 7.5p/kWh overnight. It's only a small saving but over the years it'll add up.
