Another Ebay ISF - Anyone know it?

Still got my eye out for an ISF and this one appeared over Christmas - seems to be the same crazy shouty seller that had one on a few weeks back.

Anyway, looks good in the pictures and is a facelift which is ideally what I'd want. Anyone know anything about the car?

The last two services were non Lexus which is a bit of a concern and also I'd assume it's on the verge of the big 60K service too?

@Nutey Well I have never and I mean never seen such a long winded car ad, that must have taken someone a fortnight 😂

Anyway I remember  the other car advertised had a Northern Irish connection don’t know what happened to it though.

Well a full history is a full history but I’d want to check that aspect out fairly carefully, the Mot History is good.

It's a bit special isn't it, hard work to read and actually find the useful info amongst the bumf.

I asked and the last two services are from random garages so probably just oil and filters I'd assume. How big is the 60k service?

@Nutey It’s when the spark plugs are changed so if you go to a main dealer the 60k is anywhere between £700-900 🙄

I've found the seller, his name's Noel Botham and he also wrote this book...

It looks like another one that was on eBay privately a couple of months back at £21k with a best offer option.

It had a fair few thought out modifications on it that were all listed, it was from right down south and was apparently the sellers second ISF. Had it had a sun roof i may well have been a very skint ISF owner now!

If it is the same car it appeared a very good one, makes you wonder how much the shouty lady got it for if it is though!

Interesting, I thought I'd been keeping an eye on recent listings but must have missed that one. I might go and have a look as it's not a million miles away - god knows what she is like in real life though! Her reply to my question about it being due a service imminently was odd:

*****, this person try's to make a positive out of everything. I imagine any stone chips with make the car lighter and improve the power to weight ratio and maybe a car with no service history is great because you have peace of mind that nobody else has touched the engine and it's a blank canvas. Probably an ex estate agent 😂

I'm in the first stages of looking for an ISF (more at research phase to be honest) and saw this one on eBay before Christmas but it ended without sale. Everyone reading the add in instalments over a number of days and the auction timed out I guess. Its hard work isn't it.  It was relisted again this week but I just get the feeling the lady is trying too hard to sell and that made me suspicious.  I did wonder about the history though if any knows the car? 

Very interesting to read what all you knowledgeable guys have to say on this forum by the way. Im sure its going to help me find just the right one.

Hi Glynn just wondering looking at your forum name whether you were a Cortina man back in the day, good luck with the search the car maybe fine the advert is a little off putting.

Thete are some good cars on sale at the moment I have knowledge about but not this particular one.

If you go and view then check for the USRS kit to the front wishbones, thats one thing i remember from the original add along with the red calipers (doesnt seem common?) and the center dial gauges. I'm sure it had an aftermarket exhaust on too and some aftermarket springs.

What a load of tosh, drones on and on, and despite all the waffle some of the details about it being "a genuine facelift car" are clearly wrong!!!!!!!!!

Hi Paul, Yes, my interest in cars does span the decades so you guessed right as I have a 1968 Cortina 1600e, (under restoration) in Blue Mink. Anyone of a certain age will remember those.  "back in the day"  it belonged to my Granddad so family owned from new and one day it will be hit the road again better than new.  For clarity I don't remember it new as was only a child. Im old but not that old.

Yours, and other comments on here, as well as being interesting and amusing are the best source of info available which I sure many enjoy reading if not contributing and maybe soon I will be back with a V8. Life is not complete without a V8.

For me its all about the colour so not going to alienate myself by declaring my favourite................just yet :-)

@gb1600e Glynn colour choice well mine is a forgone conclusion!

So here is a admittedly poor photograph of my old Cortina 1600E it's in Silver Fox no surprises there I know, it was a colour notorious for the paint parting company with the primer undercoat 🙄

Had her for about 18months from 1979 onwards they've always had a strong following one of my favourites alas the guy who bought it from me had it stolen and not found.

@Bluesman Yes that's right mike I saw that I'm not sure how they term stolen vehicles as that kind of info is only going to be on other databases, the car of course could have been recovered registered again but scrapped or something I guess.

The "facelift car"  as they call it, didn't appear with the revised dash, sat nav, LSD etc all in one go, some 2011 cars have some of the changes but not others, the car featured in Modern Classics at the moment was my car and as you can see from the photos it doesn't have the updated clocks but does have the upgraded sat nav and later LSD, signified by the blue panel at the bottom of the steering wheel, I am sure there were a couple of other mistakes but without reading the whole bloody thing again I cant remember them.
