Boot

Recommended Posts

Since i've had my IS, when i push the open boot button on the key fob or pull the boot release, the boot opens but does not pop up. When i picked up a zuast from the LexMeisterGeneral i noticed his popped up.

Does everybody elses boot pop up? Is there something i could do for mine to work correctly? Or am i just being lazy?

Thanks,

Adie

I think only the newer models of the IS do this mate, my IS200 only popped up.

The current IS300 opens up all the way, (and there is a spoiler)

Jason, (JiberJaber) was having problems with his, it wasn't opening / closing right.

He got the springs/holders replaced on warranty.

May be an idea to ask him !

Cheers mate. The LexMeister's was a IS300. Maybe 51 reg IS200 not meant to pop up? Although it does when i'm parked facing up a hill.

mine used to open fully but now only unlocks i guess some greese is needed and some silicone spray on the rubber as it feels like it bonds to that at times too

Cheers mate will try that at weekend.

there are different springs depending on spoilered or spoilerless boot lids

Are they stronger then? Or not intended to lift the boot at all? Mine were replaced under warranty, went all the way for a while, then half way, and since the accident, not at all. Hoping to get them replaced again with the repairs, maybe I could get the spoiler springs if they're stronger ;)

Hopefully they're getting done tomorrow when I put it in for the service. Apparently there are stronger springs for when the spoiler is added etc..

Will report back when I have got it back.

Well had the boot done today, I can now launch things at cars that get in my way by remote control!

Move out of the way and make way for the Lexus Balista :)

Is that these stronger spoiler springs that you've had fitted? That's almost violent! :o

Awesome stuff! :D

Dont know which part number they are, they just replaced them with stronger ones without any great hassle..... suggestions or items that you would like to see launched may be made at the Grasshopper meet this weekend!
