Is200 -year Differences

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the differences are in the IS200 from 1999-2002?

Are there any?

Im going to buy a model in that year range, but was wondering if there were any fundamental upgrades from one year to the next.

2000-2001

changed the radio

changed the speaker grills on front doors

added air bags

lowered the suspention (sportier ride but still very comfortable)

changed the front grill

dark cromed the rear lights

I think that is it.

Thanks Craig. So does that mean the 2000 models wont have airbags?

Edit: I just did a search and the 2000 models here in Australia have air bags at least.

They still have airbags, steering wheel, passenger dash and side of seats. The updated ones have airbags in the A-pillar.

yeah but there is 2 extra, 1 in each front post and i think there is an extra curtain across the top aswell but cant remember exactly.

armrest in a right position

Thanks everyone. It doesnt look like there are major changes like different gear-boxes or anything.

There's currently a lot of 2000 models in my price range, doesnt look like I'll miss out on too much by going with an earlier model.

may 2000 > cars have different cats and front brake pipe fittings ...will get my anorak

full leather was 2004 onwards

<-2000 models have smaller brakes, whereas 2001-> IS200 models have the same brakes as the IS300 and GS300 MKII. Can't remember the difference in diameter, tho.

Mine is an early 2004.

Escaine/Leather (full leather as standard came later into 2004).

Just qualified for the smoked glass head & tail lights.

Dashtray with lid introduced 2003/2004.

Mine is 2005 march onwards, i think its the last batch they do?

mine came with sat nav as standard according to lexus.

full leather, tints glass at 3 rear windows (probably i will tint the front too just to make it look better).

think thats it?
