Collected My New Car!

Guys/Gals,

I picked up my new car this morning! :D :D :D :D

It looked absolutely fantastic in the showroom :D

When I arrived at Lexus Hadleigh - Jeremy Chiltern (the sales specialist) - was busy with another guy and asked if I could wait a few minutes.

The chap was buying an ex-demo car. When Jeremy had took a deposit from him and he departed Jeremy told me that he had come to Hadleigh because he had seen my recent review in the dealer section! So, if you were that chap - then tell us who you are! :D

Jeremy seemed to be very pleased that my review had attracted some custom! There were 5 new cars going out today!

The only problem I found with my new car was a little paint chip on the plastic door trim on the front passenger door. They are ordering me in a new trim and will fit it next week.

All in all, a very enjoyable morning!

I really like the armrest. Why didn't Lexus have them in from the start. :(

Weird - I've just realised that my new car is almost the same colour as my garage door! Didn't think that B&Q sold Strathcaron Blue paint!

Hadleigh are really great. There's no doubt that I'll be going back for another new car in 2005 when the new IS comes out!

They really bent over backwards to get my wife and I in another IS after my accident. That really is customer service. Jeremy is a really friendly chap and really makes you feel at home (and that is something in a car dealership!)

Interested to know - is the centre armrest now standard on the new models then, or did you request that as an add-on?

The armrest if standard on the auto nowadays.

I just PM'd playa to ask where he got his clear mats from that he mentioned before that he put over his oakham mats to keep them clean. I'm going down Halfords in half an hour to see if I can get some. Do Halfords sell 'thin' clear mats then?

Picked myself up some 'clear interior mat covers' this afternoon from my local Halfords. I reckon they're the same ones as Playa has.

They're just like normal car mats - but thinner. You just put them over the top of your nice Oakham mats and you can still see them and they don't get covered in crap! :D

They don't fit perfectly, but all in all I'm very pleased with them for £12 for the fronts and £8 for the backs...

Has anyone else noticed that they chew fuel for the first 1200 miles? My last car had 12,000 miles on the clock when it 'died' (wrote-off) and it was nice! My new car feels as tight as hell!

Never mind, it won't be long before it's run in! :D
