I had Federal tyres on my LS400 I didn't rate them Noisy and a bit skitty at high speeds. Made me think I was going to lose control of the car.

I changed them well before they were worn out.

But maybe it was just the experience I had with them. I have never trusted Budget tyres since. If you NEED to spend money then GOOD tyres are a must.

these are budget tyres thay are ok for doting around but i wouldent be putting then on a RWD in winter or any time

budgets are more suted to FWD low powerd cars, thats my thoughts and i use to work in the trade

but its all about what you have to spend and with it being xmas the cash is low

Go for Falken FK-452 Tyres. If you buy them direct from Falken online I they are really cheap.

I have them on my car and usually i wouldn't touch anything not from one of the big boys. But the Falken they are highly recommend by alot of BMW owners, especially the M3 owners seem to like them so I thought I would give them a go and so far so good. No problems. Not as good in the wet as the Goodyear Eagle F1 (but they are really special in the wet) but overall I'd say a bargain considering the price.

The only thing I don't like about them is that they have no rim protector, so you have to be extra careful on the kerbs.

Some good reviews too:

Go for it! :)

PS Just remembered that Gord had them on this first Lexus AND he has the 19" FK-452's on his Altezza. ;) :)

ive had the falken 452's fitted on the rear of my 300 and they are fantastic, low road noise, fantastic grip and superb in the wet, i have P Zeros on the front....cant wait to swap them for the falkens.

Top tyre.

I don't reccomend budget tyres. I bought my Lexus with Chinesse Wanli and it was a mistake not to exchange them at the beginning. Result - I landed in a field and was very lucky that nothing happened except a few scraps on my front bumper. In RWD car tyres are one of the most important parts of a car. Budget tyres behaves badly especially during rain. I bought Dunlop for winter and have no problems even with snow and ice. So I suggest not buying cheap tyres, like it was written here - good tyres can safe your life.

  • 2 years later...

When I was hard up, I needed 2 new tyres for the front and went for Wanli S1063. Since then I have read a lot about Wanli tyres being c**p and have been unable to understand because the S1063's have been superb. They always steer beautifully and have never broken traction, even in the wet. They wear out slowly as well. Still puzzled, I looked them up on TYREREVIEWS and my feelings were confirmed, see below:

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Wanli/S1063.htm

I am not saying for a second that these are the best tyres around, but for the price and the overall rating they need to be considered. It is worth noting that the Wanli S1088 is rated as pretty appalling. Perhaps that is where the bad press comes from.
