How Much To Change A Tyre?

I'm just ringing round some of the local places to get the tyres moved from the alloys I've got over onto the ones that came last week, and just been quoted £26.50 + VAT per wheel!

That's for fitting, valves and balancing - does that sound about right or are they trying to pull my pants down as I only paid £280 elsewhere last time including 4 new tyres!!!

Thats well steep I think mate but I have noticed places are getting more expensive when it comes to such things as tyre replacement/balancing etc. I know a nice little place in longsight that does puncture repair for a fiver tho and think everything else is cheap as well ;)

Where abouts are u located mate?

Just tried another one and they've said £70 all in, just realised it's another 12 quid on top of that 12.95 so 16 quid a go.

Just going to try some a bit further away, I might end up going to my usual place 40 miles away at this rate :D

Just thought as well the most expensive of that lot is the same place that charged me £15 for 30 mins work when they put the Hiper on my exhaust years ago - times change I guess!

I pay 10 pounds all in, Simon's brother works at the fast fit place in Glossop :D

Ah I know where you mean, Steve was shouting something out the window when we'd gone down to see that dolly bird at the sandwich shop :D

@ Dan, that would be ace, I'd be running off for a pint to check out the local talent down there while I was there :)

That sounds like Lexus main stealer prices! :shutit:

My local fitters charge £10 a corner and a very, very expensive and extremely highly regarded high performance specialist fitters close by only charge £12 a corner all in.......so yes.....you are being "filled in" at that price.

Best regards David

I always take mine to ETS ( Eden Tyre Services) at Somercotes, Alfreton they also have one at Ripley, Derbys but not sure about anywhere else.

They charge around a tenner to put my own tyres on including valve, balance ( stick ons), rim crud removal, torque the wheels nuts correctly and old cover disposal.

Cheers fella, tried the Ripley one, they were a lot more reasonable, it was Selectatyre in Ripley actually who quoted the 26.50 + VAT per wheel!

Used them a lot in the past but have to admit I go up to the Buxton one normally - saying that though since I moved further North the guys in Attecliffe are bang on everytime for anything you can think off - plus a couple are Chesterfield lads so I'll see them sometimes in the Beach Bar :D Then again not been there either for 6 months
