Guys n' Gals

May i present my new 225/40/18 wrapped in Yoko's..

those at the bracknel meet would have seen them and i believe they were well received.. :D

only only grumble  is that i get minor arch scuffing when cornering at bit more harsher than usual and hit a bump. i think it coming from the front but havent made my mind up..

I was looking at dropping the lex but now im having second thoughts on that little number.

:lol::lol:

"Roll, Roll, Roll your arch,"

"gently down the seam."

"Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily,

"Scrapes are just a dream"....

:lol::lol:

But I think it's your offset that's your problem..

What make and size are dem wheels?

just bend the rear arches up a tad . i did it on my vectra (don`t normally admit to that one ! ssshhhhhhh ! don`t tell no one !) did it with a heat gun (to make the paint flexible) and a wooden `ammer (mans best friend) and "hey presto" no more rubbing) :winky:

Just spoke to the suppliers,, Offset is ET35. does that sound good or bad..

the wheels are Hi-Octane H109

Isn't the offset supposed to be ET45 boys and girls ?

dont wanna say this but ::

offset of 35 will definetly scrub

i know through experience

the back will scrub if you put anything in boot

or carry rear passengers

the front isnt so suseptable because you dont load any thing on the front

you are also putting strain on the bearings etc:

my advice is to return them

dont let them scrub ,it is rather dangerous and can be expensive for new tyres

they did look nice though

hmmmm me thinks i shall contact the supplier, (R-Tec over in St Albans)

When i rang R-Tec a while back about some wheels, they told me the offsett for the Lex was 40mm, i told them that the offset is 45mm, they didn't agree with that

Nice Wheels.... Mine rubbed at the back a bit, but i got the arches rolled, but the front, you will always get a minor rub when turning the wheels etc.., but that will become less gradually. :whistling:

BTW, 45 is the standard offset.

Nige

I was under that impression too ...

BUT, having had the wheels off recently, i see '50' is stamped in the back.

There's no other marking that looks like an offset so i think it may be 50mm.

Maybe i'll measure it up some time to be sure.

They do look nice, shame if you have to take them back though, do they come in different offsets??

Kavey - I do try, but have been mega busy with work at mo. Where abouts did you all meet then? Was it published on the site anywhere - maybe I am not looking in right places, but couldn't see it mentioned at first glance?? :withstupid:

Imi,, how much $$ did rolling your rear arches set you back.. how long does the process take, where did you get it done..

I got it done in Keighley, near Bardford, it took the guy around 2 hours and cost me £40 for having both the rear arches rolled, fronts are fine.. :whistling:

It's a bit hard to do if you have no basic idea on it, as you could crack the paint job. DUNCAN did his own rear arches, he grinded the rear ones.. :winky:

Well ive spoken to R-Tec again and the highest offsets they do for the IS200 is an ET38, they did say that this i snot a problem and that they have fitted these before to Lexus's (lexi lol) with no problems. so me thinks i may have to go with the arch rolling,

Imi any chance of a photo of your rear arch profile so i can see the results,

Can anyone recommend a place to get the arches done in the London region..
