Got My New Exhaust Today

I was going to post this in IS200/300/Sportcross.. because I had it fitted to my IS200, but then figured I was talking about the exhaust and not the IS, so maybe I should post it in general discussions, but the exhaust is made by Peco, so it's not lexus related, so then i thought ........ i'm confused now :duh:

So here it is:

And it's exactly what i wanted out of a new exhaust.. so I'm :D

Haven't got a clue... but it sounds luuuuurvly, and the car does seem more energetic...

Quite a few members have that exhaust, curtsey of a little Group Buy I set up last year.

PECO stated it should yield about 5 bhp.

Only had it a day and its going rusty already, better get Mrs Mop out with the wire brush and some Autosol

Thanks Matt.... well after seeing (and hearing) yours back at the Cotswold meet, I knew it was the one I wanted...

I'm glad I finally got it, and I'm well chuffed with the result :D

It sounds great in low gears, and pulling away from junctions, but on the motorway, you can't tell any difference (even with the stereo off!)

Iya fidgits,im in the market for a new exhaust and have a few questions for ya :).

1.Is your zaust the Peco BB4 backbox only? as ive just priced one at Halfords and its £213 fitted which i didnt think was too bad.

2.Im not interested in any performance gain all im after is a nice sound.is the sound noticably differant (louder)to the std back box ?

I priced a powerflow up and they wanted £325 for a decat straight through pipe and back box but im not sure if ill lose too much backpressure with this so if i can get away with just a peco and save over £100 thatll be nice :)

Yep, just the Peco BB4 back-box... thats where I got it from, and how much I paid...

Well, Peco quote a 5hp increase, but it gives the engine a much meater sound.. I wouldn't say it's much louder (just a little).. but it definatly sounds more sporty.. and you get a nice rasp at the red line..

As for Motorway crusing.. you don't notice it.. which is nice..

I'd reccomend the Peco.. looks good, and sounds nice, without being too boy racer...

hey Fidgits or zee or anyone with the peco bb4, can any of you lot tell me if the peco's box is small enough to fit on the other side? (of the car) the standard back box is too big to fit the gap as i have measured, wanted to do a conversion, dont rate powerflows as i have heard the boxes are not all that.

I had it on my previous car with a straight catback pipe and it did exactly the same : nice noise but you don't get bored with it on the motorway as it is not to noisy.

The only problem I had is that rust broke one of the inside soldering points after one year. It made a absolutely not sporty "cling cling" noise.
