whats the best way to get to the oil filter on the is200? do you have to take the under body cover off?

yeh i do,usually take it to my mates garage and borrow his lift,i use Castrol RS oil.i might try a pair of ramps next time.

Yeah I took mine off with a jack and some axle stands.

Mobil 1 every 5k for mine - usually just drop the oil and don't change filter for the my change - garage gets Mobil 1 to use along with filter change at service time :P

I do mine with a jack and axel stands. It's a bit tricky and you really need the Toyota SST (Special Service Tool) because unlike most filters, which just go hand tight, the IS200 one needs an extra 3/4 turn.

Not sure where the oil filter is on an is200, but the Altezza can be done without even jacking it up.... only ever use 76R oil myself, having tried "others"!!!

Need to have quite a flexible wrist to reach the oil filter like , but it saves time undoing all the shields, and jacking it up..

It is not needed to take the undercover away. Lie down at the left side of the car with your head a bit behind the left front weel. The first time it is tightend very hard in the factory.

There is not much space to use tools.
